The biggest star of the night may have been defensive back Amare Newell. At 5’11”, 175 pounds, he locked down the deep ball and came away with two interceptions against Winslow. Both turnovers came on underthrown passes, but Newell showed outstanding ball tracking and body control to secure them in bounds. Winslow’s game plan clearly involved testing Bergen Catholic’s secondary, yet Newell turned those chances into game-changing plays. His interceptions shifted the momentum and played a huge role in Bergen Catholic pulling away for the win.

– those of big brother and current Ohio State Buckeye Quincy Porter to be specific. Although the younger Porter has yet to truly break out like Quincy before him, sources tell me that Bryan is actually further along skill-wise than Quincy was at the same point during his prep career. Expect his modest 24/220/1 slash line to improve – as well as his ranking – this season as more opportunities open up on offense.

steps into the shoes of his older brother, Quincy Porter, as Bergen Catholic’s unquestioned top offensive weapon.
After having his come-out party in the Non-Public A championship, the 5’11, 180lbs junior showed that he’s ready for the moment and gave us a glimpse into what to expect this season. From his versatility and speed to his suddenness as a route runner, Porter has multiple roles that he can be deployed in the Bergen Catholic offense, and it will be interesting to take note how he’s utilized early in the season.
As you would expect, Porter has gained the attention of Power 4 teams. Earning offers this summer from Ohio State, Illinois, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Porter will be one of NJ’s premier weapons for the 2025-2026 season.

Not a pure burner, but fast enough to turn short throws into big gains. Expect him to be a significant weapon and the next great Bergen Catholic wideout.

, has officially announced himself to the state with his coming out party.
A receiver, the younger Porter made 3 receptions for 34 yards; however, when given an opportunity to run the ball, Porter single-handedly put the game away with two long runs. With the score standing at 11-7 in the 4th quarter, Porter ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run to put the Crusaders. Later in the same quarter, Porter repeated his magic to ice the game with a 26-yard touchdown run to finalize the 25-7 score.
As he looks to produce his brother’s greatness entering his junior season, Porter recorded 24 catches for 220 yards and a score, while he carried the ball 4 times for 95 yards and scoring twice.

New Jersey – At 5-foot-11 and now up to 180 pounds, Porter is getting ready to explode onto the recruiting scene and some school is going to look really smart by being first to offer him. He’s tacked on 10-15 pounds since I first wrote about him this past fall and I can’t say enough good things about his game. Dominated pre-high school football as a running back, but also a gifted wide out. He’s the younger brother of fast-rising 2025 prospect Quincy Porter who holds double-digit offers. The duo will be at Bergen Catholic this upcoming season.

, the “little brother” is ready for those expectations and more with his prowess on the football field. Growing up just eight miles from the state line into New York City, Porter had a tremendous youth career with his hometown New Milford Knights up through this year. This season he’s joining a number of New Jersey’s other top 2027 prospects on the Silk City Elite, including

. Porter has played mostly Running Back during his youth career but at 5-foot-11, 165-pounds and showing no signs of being close to done growing, I’m seeing him as more of an Athlete as he gets sets to transition into high school ball. Playing the schedule that Silk City Elite has on tap this year, he’s certainly preparing himself for the next level. I’d be shocked if he didn’t end up at Bergen Catholic with his brother next fall. Stay tuned, he should be a highly recruited prospect.
