Every Sunday this season, we'll put the spotlight on the players with our Top Performer feature! Whether it was a clutch performance to secure a victory or a player that just went off and filled up the stat sheet, we have them here. This week, we have just under 30 different players featured! To nominate a top performer, you can DM us on X @PrepRedzoneOK or email Michael@PrepRedzone.com Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every single day for new content throughout the 2025 football season!

[player_tooltip player_id='1704727' first='Aiden' last='Estep'] - Junior Linebacker - Cascia Hall

Cascia Hall bounced back from a week zero loss by dominating Rejoice Christian from a defensive perspective in a 21-14 victory. It was a typical "blue swarm" effort from the Commandos and leading the way was junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1704727' first='Aiden' last='Estep'] as he had a big night. Estep finished with ten tackles on the night and also found his way into the end zone on a 90-yard interception return for a score. The Commandos fell to rival Holland Hall in week zero but Friday was a big bounce back win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836511' first='Austin' last='Hickman'] - Junior Kicker - Fairview

For the second straight week, Fairview has someone on our top performer feature. This week, it's the rare kicker spotlight but junior [player_tooltip player_id='1836511' first='Austin' last='Hickman'] certainly earned it. The Yellowjackets trailed Kingston 21-20 and they were looking at their first loss of the year. But they got within field goal range and Hickman would drive home a 36-yard field goal as time expired to stun the Redskins for the second straight year. Last season, they beat Kingston in the final minute but that was in a tied game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1878056' first='Brooks' last='Backus'] - Sophomore Running Back - Piedmont

Piedmont is 2-0 on the young season with back to back shutout victories. And the impressive part of this is they've had multiple players standing out. Last week, it was a different standout but this week, sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1878056' first='Brooks' last='Backus'] gets the nod. They shut out El Reno 34-0 on Friday, behind 134 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries. That's what makes preparing for Piedmont so difficult. They have multiple players on offense that opponents will need to worry about this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836844' first='Cale' last='McPeek'] - Senior Running Back - Pawnee

Pawnee made quite the statement in week one when they dominated defending Class A-2 state champion Woodland. The Black Bears were led by a ferocious rushing attack. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1836844' first='Cale' last='McPeek'] was borderline unstoppable. He finished the night with just under 300 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Woodland went undefeated last season but they're starting this season 0-1 after McPeek and the Black Bears dominated the line of scrimmage and drove up and down the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1748512' first='Cal' last='Whitnah'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Harrah

The Harrah Panthers opened the 2025 season with a rivalry win over McLoud. They beat the Redskins 33-10 and sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1748512' first='Cal' last='Whitnah'] was a dual-threat weapon that the Redskins had no answer for. Whitnah threw for just under 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six carries for 70 yards and a score. This performance could be a sign of what's to come for Whitnah and this Harrah offense this season. This program continues to trend in the right direction.

[player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] - Sophomore Running Back - Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] had arguably the best performance of his young career as the Bulldogs beat rival Heritage Hall for the seventh straight time. Wright would finish the night with nearly 200 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. He also had two catches for 22 yards and a score as the Bulldogs would beat the Chargers 35-6. Wright is one of the more electric running backs in the state's 2028 class. He's also sharing carries but Friday, he was unstoppable.

[player_tooltip player_id='206345' first='Conner' last='Quintero'] - Senior Quarterback - Chisholm

Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='206345' first='Conner' last='Quintero'] has settled in at Chisholm and he definitely looked the part in their dominant 53-14 win over Hennessey Friday night. Quintero has been a quarterback that we've had our eyes on for a few years now. Friday's performance was arguably the best of his career. In the win, Quintero threw for just under 400 yards and five touchdowns on the night. With a fresh start, Quintero could put up some big numbers this season in this Longhorn offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='402373' first='Dallas' last='Dyer'] - Senior Running Back - Victory Christian

Victory Christian got the first win of the RJ Wakley era with a 29-26 win on the road against McLain Friday night. Leading the way for the Conquerors was senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='402373' first='Dallas' last='Dyer'] and he had a typical performance for his standards when he's healthy. He ran for over 150 yards and also had 56 yards as a receiver. He finished with three touchdowns on the night. When Dyer is healthy, he's a terrific all purpose running back, who can impact the game in so many different ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] - Junior Running Back - Carl Albert

Defending champion Carl Albert dominated Midwest City to win their 41st consecutive game. But the storyline coming out was the emergence of junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] after he ran for well over 200 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. Prior to this season, we talked about Matthews being the next guy in Carl Albert's long line of dominant running backs. We've seen flashes of him in the past but this year is his first chance to be that marquee back and he lived up to the hype in week one.

[player_tooltip player_id='1163096' first='Draighton' last='Fletcher'] - Senior Running Back - Vian

Vian dominated Eufaula 41-7 in their first game of the 2025 season. The Wolverines come into this season with one of the best running back duos in the state. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1163096' first='Draighton' last='Fletcher'] is a guy that can be underrated considering who he shares the backfield with. But he is such a critical and more importantly, productive part of this Vian offense. Fletcher finished the night Friday with just nine carries for nearly 150 yards and two touchdowns. Vian is picking up right where they left off from last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] - Junior Quarterback - Broken Bow

It was a matter of when and not if Broken Bow junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] would be on this weekly feature after he was on it basically every other week last year. The Savages are 2-0 after beating Durant 26-23 on Friday night. Howell had everything going as a dual-threat quarterback. He threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 9-18 passing. He also added 111 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. We've called Howell the most electric quarterback in the state and Friday was an example.

[player_tooltip player_id='1837221' first='Jaedan' last='Adams'] - Sophomore Running Back - Stillwater

Stillwater made quite the statement to the rest of Class 6A-2 as they went on the road and beat up Union with a 41-15 victory over the Redhawks. Sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1837221' first='Jaedan' last='Adams'] could not be stopped Friday night. He finished the week one game with just shy of 250 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. We mentioned a few times this offseason that Stillwater would have one of the better offensive lines in the state this season. Adams certainly benefitted from that Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1837110' first='Jaydon' last='Spencer'] - Senior Defensive Lineman - Norman

Norman played spoiler Friday night as they beat rival Norman North in their first on-campus home game in school history. The Tigers beat the Timberwolves 19-13 and the Tiger defense was the story. Senior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1837110' first='Jaydon' last='Spencer'] made life miserable for Norman North's quarterback. Spencer finished with five tackles but also had three sacks and countless QB pressures, impacting the game in other ways. Spencer's last sack would result in a safety, clinching the win for Norman.

[player_tooltip player_id='1164601' first='Jett' last='Frankum'] - Sophomore Athlete - Plainview

Plainview beat Lone Grove 19-6 on Friday night and sophomore sensation [player_tooltip player_id='1164601' first='Jett' last='Frankum'] had a massive performance in all three phases of the game. Offensively, Frankum finished with 120 all purpose yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he finished with seven tackles, two for loss and a pair of pass breakups. As if that wasn't enough, Frankum also had a blocked field goal in the win. Frankum was one of the state's 2028 prospects we saw early on in his career and now he's shining on Friday nights.

[player_tooltip player_id='1667339' first='Jeymon' last='Reed'] - Freshman Quarterback - Altus

Last month, we said that Altus quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1667339' first='Jeymon' last='Reed'] was the frontrunner to be this year's freshman of the year. So far through two games, he's living up to the preseason hype with his play on the field. The Bulldogs beat Elk City 43-16 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Reed only played two and a half quarters and threw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns on 15-22 passing. He also had four carries for 39 yards and two scores. It's been a terrific start for Reed and the Bulldogs this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1177426' first='Jordan' last='Smith'] - Junior Athlete - Berryhill

Berryhill survived and knocked off Fort Gibson 31-30 on Friday night, in one of the more exciting finishes from week one. The Chiefs had a few different players that we could put the spotlight on here but we're going with junior [player_tooltip player_id='1177426' first='Jordan' last='Smith'] as he might be on the verge of a breakout season. Smith finished the night with nearly 150 all purpose yards. He had a big 75-yard touchdown and can impact the game in several ways. We first saw Smith this offseason at our 7v7 tournament and he shined.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] - Junior Athlete - Del City

Del City was shut out in week zero but the Eagles lit up the scoreboard in their top five showdown against Booker T Washington. Leading the way was junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] and he continues to be the ultimate weapon for the Eagles. Offensively, he finished with nearly 100 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He was taking direct snaps and lining up as a traditional running back. He also took two punts back for touchdowns, giving him five touchdowns on the night in the 38-7 win.

[player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Senior Running Back - Jenks

For the second straight week, Jenks senior running back and Oklahoma State commit [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] finds his way on this breakdown. Last week, Jones was a complete playmaker on offense. This week, Jones was a complete workhorse back as the Trojans rallied to beat Owasso 31-21. Jones finished the night with 34 carries and 160 yards and three touchdowns. Jones has shown that workhorse ability in the past and it was needed Friday. He's also closing in on passing his dad on the all time Jenks rushing list.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717571' first='Levi' last='Jensen'] - Senior Running Back - Sapulpa

Sapulpa opened their 2025 season with a 24-14 win over Tahlequah. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1717571' first='Levi' last='Jensen'] had a really impressive performance for the Chieftain offense. Jensen finished the night with 160 yards on 17 carries. And it's a little more impressive when you consider who the Chieftains were going against Friday night. Tahlequah has one defensive lineman committed to Kansas State and another defensive lineman on the rise. It was going to be hard but Jensen made it look easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] - Senior Running Back/Defensive Back - Sulphur

In our opinion, Sulphur senior [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] was the best player in the state Friday night. Offensively, he finished with 15 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown. He also caught six passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he had nearly 20 tackles, two pass break ups and an interception that clinched the game for the Bulldogs in their 28-19 win over Washington. Mobly absolutely took this game over in the fourth quarter and was a huge reason why they snapped Washington's 45-game win streak.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035153' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] - Junior Quarterback - Bethel

For the second straight week, Bethel had a player on this weekly breakdown as this offense continue to light up the scoreboard. Junior signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1035153' first='Maddox' last='Davis'] was outstanding Friday night. Davis led an offensive onslaught that resulted in a 50-34 win over Luther. Davis threw for over 300 yards and five touchdowns on 15-29 passing. Last week, it was Bethel's running back and this week, it's the quarterback. Bethel has already shown they can beat opponents in different ways after two games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045568' first='Nick' last='Booker'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Edmond Memorial

Edmond Memorial is off to a 2-0 start after beating Deer Creek 35-7 on Friday night. The Bulldogs nearly had their second straight shutout to start the season. Senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1045568' first='Nick' last='Booker'] had a terrific performance on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Booker had 150 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Defensively, he finished the night with ten tackles. The Bulldogs already are looking like one of the best defenses in Class 6A-1. It's early, but they've been very impressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1837672' first='Noah' last='Wald'] - Senior Quarterback - Weatherford

Weatherford beat Kingfisher 28-27 on Friday night and senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1837672' first='Noah' last='Wald'] was the star. Wald finished with just under 100 yards on 6-15 passing but it was his ability as a runner that earns him a spot on this breakdown. He finished with a workhorse performance of 32 carries for over 150 yards and he accounted for all four Weatherford touchdowns. The Eagles were somewhat of a mystery to us considering the senior class they graduated but Wald had a terrific performance in the week one win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1299977' first='Peyton' last='Stelling'] - Junior Running Back - Verdigris

Verdigris junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1299977' first='Peyton' last='Stelling'] is another player that has earned his way on this spotlight for the second straight week. Last week, they snapped a losing streak in the win over Beggs. This week, they beat Sperry 27-15 and Stelling was once again the story. He finished the night with 24 carries for over 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns. We're only two weeks into the season and Stelling looks like a running back primed for a 1,500 yard season or maybe even more.

[player_tooltip player_id='916843' first='Remington' last='Laughlin'] - Junior Quarterback - Mangum

Mangum kicked off their 2025 campaign with a 54-18 win over Wilson. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='916843' first='Remington' last='Laughlin'] was happy to be back on the field after injuries derailed his freshman and sophomore seasons. In the win over Wilson, Mangum was incredibly efficient on offense. They had multiple players standing out but Laughlin was the general in charge, moving them down the field. He threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns on 14-16 passing. If healthy, Laughlin could have a huge season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035105' first='Roman' last='Manella'] - Junior Quarterback - Mount St. Mary

Mount St. Mary had some hype coming into this season. Okay, so we put a lot of that hype out there this offseason. But you look at the roster and you see guys that can produce at a high level. In their season opener, the offense could not be stopped as they rolled up a 59-14 win over Community Christian. Leading the way was junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1035105' first='Roman' last='Manella'] as he threw for nearly 350 yards and four touchdowns on 20-30 passing. The Rockets are not a team to overlook this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] - Senior Running Back - Collinsville

Collinsville senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] is another player that was on this weekly feature quite a bit last season. Collinsville beat up Oologah 34-0 in the season opener Friday night. Rigby finished the night with a little over 200 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. Before Rigby started dealing with some nagging injuries last year, it felt like he was making 150-200 yards and multiple touchdowns look like a routine occurrence.
