Enjoy!

Every Monday this season, we kick off the week by looking at the ten best games across the state of Oklahoma. For a lot of schools across Oklahoma, week three will act as the final tune up game before district play begins next week. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week and throughout the season for the best coverage of Oklahoma high school football. Later this week, we'll also take a look at the Bixby Spartans as they prepare for a renewal of an old 6A-2 rivalry against Choctaw. We'll put a more in-depth spotlight on arguably the best game of the week between Carl Albert and Stillwater. And we'll finish off the week by taking a look at the players to watch this week as well as our latest installment of the Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist! For now, here's a breakdown on this week's top games across Oklahoma!

BIXBY AT CHOCTAW

Bixby hits the road to face Choctaw on Friday night and this is a very intriguing match-up for a few reasons. First off, it's a renewal of their old 6A-2 rivalry from a few years ago. You have Choctaw looking to bounce back this week following a loss to Kansas state champion Gardner Edgerton. And on the other side, you have a Bixby team that is back on the field after a bye week and looking to pick up momentum before a district opener showdown against Jenks next week. Both quarterbacks are players to watch this week. Choctaw quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] had a good showing last week in Kansas and Bixby QB [player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] is coming off arguably his best performance of his career.

CARL ALBERT AT STILLWATER

If we were to rank this week's games, it would be difficult not to put Carl Albert hitting the road to face Stillwater at the top of the list. Defending 5A champion Carl Albert has been absolutely dominant so far through two games but this will be a much larger test. Stillwater has only been tested so far this year. They won an overtime thriller over Union and had to rally to beat Enid last week. Carl Albert also hasn't lost a game in a long time. They've won 27 consecutive games and their defense looks really good. The Titans are led by senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='353419' first='Caden' last='Davis'] and he's a two-time All State 1st Team selection. Stillwater will look to put up points behind [player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] at quarterback.

CHRISTIAN HERITAGE AT REJOICE CHRISTIAN

In Class A-1, we'll see a match-up featuring top ten teams as Rejoice Christian will host Christian Heritage. Both of these teams expect to contend for their district title and hopefully a deep run in the playoffs. After losing their season opener to OCS, Christian Heritage bounced back with a big win in week two. And for Rejoice Christian, they are looking to bounce back this week after taking a week off following a week one loss to Cascia Hall. Both teams have playmakers at the quarterback position and we could end up seeing some fireworks in this one. While most of this week's games feature teams from different classes squaring off, this is a great match-up of Class A-1 teams.

GUTHRIE AT BLANCHARD

Defending 4A champion Blanchard had to rally to knock off Newcastle last week and this week, they'll get a much tougher test as 5A contender Guthrie comes to town. The Blue Jays dropped a week zero game to Tuttle but looked great in week two. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1340786' first='Kolten' last='Carlock'] has had a solid start to his senior season this year as he's new to the Guthrie program. On the other side of this match-up, we'll see Blanchard and their senior [player_tooltip player_id='1100200' first='Coric' last='Pierce'] who seems to always make big plays in the biggest games. Pierce caught the game-winning touchdown against Newcastle and also came up big for the Lions in the state title game a year ago. Both teams are top ten squads in their respective classes.

HERITAGE HALL AT MILLWOOD

3A's #2 Heritage Hall will go a few miles east to square off with 2A-1's #2 Millwood in a showdown of Runner Ups from last season. Both of these teams are state championship contenders in their respective classes and this has become one of our favorite non-district games each season. Over the last few years, this game has kicked off the year but this season, we'll see it to wrap up non-district play. Heritage Hall junior [player_tooltip player_id='587270' first='Jerrod' last='Williams'] Jr is one of the best players that we've watched in person so far through the first couple weeks. He can impact the game in all three phases. Millwood senior [player_tooltip player_id='571111' first='Cameron' last='Carter'] is a two-way star for the Falcons at running back and linebacker.

NORMAN AT PIEDMONT

This is a very underrated game in our opinion this week simply because we didn't see both of these teams coming into this week with 2-0 records. It's only week three but both Norman and Piedmont have already exceeded preseason expectations and they continue to climb the rankings in their respective classes. Norman entered the 6A-1 rankings behind a strong passing game. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] is an early candidate for one of the more improved players this season. Piedmont has also quickly risen up the 6A-2 rankings and they're led by a very strong defense. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='595674' first='Lane' last='Whitworth'] has emerged as one of the top defenders in Class 6A-2 already.

NORTH ROCK CREEK AT HOLDENVILLE

This is another intriguing match-up but it's more about how each team looks in their respective class. In Class 3A, North Rock Creek continues to climb the rankings and senior [player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] is quickly becoming one of the top overall playmakers in that class and in the state. He's coming off a very busy 48 hours on Friday and Saturday. He dominated in week two and then committed to North Texas on Saturday. On the other side of this match-up you'll see a Holdenville team that doesn't have a potential superstar like Hawkins but they have a very experienced group that performs very well as a group and they do what they do at a high level. Both teams expect to compete in their respective class.

PAWHUSKA AT WOODLAND

It's Class A-1 against Class A-2 and a big time quarterback match-up as A-2's top-ranked Woodland will host A-1's #3 Pawhuska. Both quarterbacks are coming off week two performances that landed them on the Top Performer feature over the weekend so we can't help but look ahead to what they'll do for an encore. Pawhuska senior quarterback lit up rival Hominy last week and the Pawhuska offense has been a tough one to slow down so far this season. Woodland senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] played a nearly perfect game as the Cougars rolled to a win as they look like a good pick for the top-ranked team in this new Class A-2. This is a great week three match-up.

VIAN AT POCOLA

We're headed to Pocola on Friday night for this showdown as Class A-1's #5 Pocola will host 2A-2's top-ranked Vian in a match-up that used to be a district clash. And even though this is one of the smaller school match-ups, this one will not be lacking playmakers and overall skill on either side. Pocola is headlined by the top available prospect in the state's 2025 class. [player_tooltip player_id='382643' first='Dakotah' last='Terrell'] is a very unique prospect that has emerged as one of the best in Oklahoma and in this part of the country. Vian will look to counter with one of the top prospects in the state's 2026 class. [player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] has been a playmaker for a while now but he's still flying under the radar. That should change soon.

WEATHERFORD AT PAULS VALLEY

It's a top five team in Class 3A hosting a top five team in Class 4A with Pauls Valley and Weatherford respectively. This game might be flying under the radar but it's definitely high on our list. Both teams feature some of the best prospects in the state's 2025 class. Pauls Valley is led by star running back and Baylor commit [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] while Weatherford counters with Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='353421' first='CJ' last='Nickson'] on offense and defense. Both teams are very similar coming into this season. They are teams that have been knocking on the door of becoming a serious team in their respective class but with all the experience and playmakers they have coming back, they've emerged as top five teams.
