Top Offensive Linemen from the PSR Big Showcase
The Oxford Area product who profiles as a guard caught my eye a few times during the PSR Big Showcase. Strength was for sure one of his biggest attributes, as I witnessed him demonstrate it both in his upper body and lower body. He power slid fast and furiously as he eliminated any space a defender thought they saw. Similarly, Ferguson had the best punch and recoil out of all the linemen in attendance. His punches were violent, fierce, and well timed.
Highlights
Another Keystone State product, English has all the physical tools to succeed and be a bonafide prospect. He has a very similar build to Ferguson, but his best attribute was how well he moved. Taking spins both on the interior and on the edge, English’s ability to move quickly in close quarters and speed of his feet denied opponents from sustaining superior leverage.
Highlights
In a lineup full of “Monstar” sized contemporaries, Alvarez was a prospect that I initially missed. However, once competition started it was hard not to sing his praises. Where Alvarez excels is in the technical aspect of offensive line play. He had some of the event’s top form for o-line play in terms of his posture and techniques. He is an effective puncher in pass protection. Above all else though, Alvarez competed with outstanding leverage due to his ability to bend and lower his pad level relative to that of his matchup.
Now although Pennisi’s event was supposed to showcase only high school prospects, there was one offensive line prodigy in attendance who might have, given his size, surprisingly slipped past the goalie. Connor Long Connor Long 6’7″ | 330 lbs | OL Bergen Catholic | 2027 State NJ is a rising-8th grader in the class of 2027 who measures at 6’7″ 320lbs. Long intends to play for Bergen Catholic in the fall. He was very raw but certainly moldable. He took each rep as an opportunity to receive feedback that he later applied. Long is vastly bigger and stronger than many of the 2025 and 2026 graduates he competed against, which he relied on to win many of his matchups. To compete for varsity burn immediately I would love to see Long’s feet get quicker.
