When it mattered most, the Caseys gave their best player the ball and Red Bank Catholics’ best player delivered. Emmanuel Ross, a Stanford-bound prospect, did caught 3 receptions in this game for 33 yards, scoring once on a 24-yard strike. More than typical, the Caseys gave the ball to Ross as rusher too, carrying 5 times for 26 yards.

An athletic build for a receiver, Emanuel is bringing his talent to Stanford in 2024.

The talented receiver had an array of college to choose from – he could have went as far south as Florida State or Tulane, as far north as Syracuse or Michigan State, went to the SEC and played for Texas A&M, or flexed his academic muscle at Vanderbilt or Duke. What Ross chose to do was go as far west as he could to arguably the top academic school who offered him.

Ross wins because he has such an explosive get off. Winning at the line makes for an easy transition for his smooth hips to be on display as he turns defenders out. When Ross possesses the ball, he simply has break away speed. As a violent runner, he generates so much power with each stride he takes. This power and speed allows him to constantly take the top off of defenses, getting behind them often. College coaches would love to see Ross’ full route tree on display on his highlight film.
