The Red Bank Catholic Prospect, was one of a few 2029 recruits in attendance for the New York Reigonal. Rivera displayed a solid 5’11” 190-Pound frame, which for a Freshman QB was impressive. Rivera had a solid performance throwing the ball, on Saturday, displaying a strong arm with good accuracy and a solid release. He moved well with solid footwork and mechanics, both of which can continue to improve. Rivera was an impressive young QB in attendance.

arrived with plenty of hype. More importantly, he spent the fall answering every question that followed. In his first varsity season, Rivera looked comfortable, composed, and ready for the moment.
From a production standpoint, the numbers support it. He finished with over 2,000 passing yards, 24 touchdown passes, a 71% completion percentage, and added four rushing touchdowns. However, beyond the stats, it was how he operated that stood out most.
Rivera runs the offense in rhythm. He gets the ball out on time, understands when to stay patient, and knows when to use his legs to extend plays. Additionally, he shows the ability to access every level of the field — outside the numbers, between the hashes, and in the intermediate game.
While there is still room for development, he clearly belongs at the varsity level. The speed of the game never overwhelmed him. Looking ahead, the next step is pushing his touchdown production even higher, because the arm talent suggests that’s coming.
As he enters his next season, Rivera is positioned for a true breakout. In a loaded 2029 quarterback class, he has the tools to separate himself and emerge as one of the top young quarterbacks in New Jersey.

I first saw Rahmir back in December, and it’s clear his offseason training has taken his game to another level. He was throwing tight spirals with serious zip, and one of the best throws of the day came when he dropped a perfect ball over his receiver’s shoulder down the sideline. His athleticism was also on display during testing, especially in the 5-10-5 and L-drill, where he showed off impressive agility. Rahmir’s poise and patience in the pocket stood out, and with his continued growth, St. Joseph is getting a QB with a ton of upside.

If you’ve followed along over the last two-three years, it’s not secret how I feel about the type of player the Ocean County QB has blossomed into. His resume is as impressive as any eighth-grade Quarterback in the country, with accolades from anywhere and everywhere. This season was especially impressive for Rivera, as he Quarterback’d the Toms River to the AYF 14U D2 title game–for the first time in the programs history. His dual-threat play earned him the team’s Overall MVP and a trip to the AYF 8th Grade National All-Star Game.

The way Rivera has transformed his game from a kid “who can throw a nice ball” to one of the best 2029s in all of the Garden State, has been a joy to watch. This past regular season, he helped Toms River win a Jersey Shore AYF 14U title. Following that, he played like a man possessed at the AYF National tournament in Florida in December 2024, leading Toms River to the AYF 14U D2 Championship Game. Playing in some very physical games, Rivera did everything he could with his legs and arm. An ode to his much-improved quickness and speed, Rivera was even tasked with playing Safety on the opposite side of the ball and didn’t blink. Easy kid and family to root for.

There’s not much I haven’t said about Rivera in the previews writeups I’ve done on him. As of August 2024, he’s one of the top Quarterbacks in New Jersey for the class of 2029. I’ve long praised his ability to throw the ball, but film from a recent scrimmage showed that he can hurt defenses with his legs too. His eventual size is the only reason for hesitation when looking into the future, because he checks every other box a coach could want.
Has attended a Prep Redzone Next camp.

Rivera made it known very early that he was leaning towards reclassing, looking for another year of physical growth and has already seen his options from the academic side (the more important side) bloom with opportunity. The 2023-2024 regular season and off-season saw Rivera continue to make strides in overall ability, something that I have well-documented on PRZ Next. He was one of two QBs to help lead the Jersey Shore AYF 14U All-Stars to an AYF National Title in December and then went on to light up our PRZ Next Middle School camp. He also racked up numerous other accolades on the camp/all-star game scene. I will continue to say it until I’m blue in he face, he throws one of the prettiest deep balls you’ll see anywhere in the state.
