is no ordinary freshman linebacker. Coming into his freshman season with great size, Jason is on his way to getting national recognition very quickly. Jason is a special talent that really could end up lining up as a backer or a safety. He has displayed quick feet and acceleration out of his stance, allowing him to end a play swiftly. He also has the vision and instinct to anticipate play flow and make his move before his opponent’s can react. The reason I could see him transition to the safety position is because is he is a natural in coverage and has shown he can change directions quickly and high point the ball when he competes for it. Another player on the list that has received an offer from West Virginia, Jason is set to bring in more offers over these upcoming months.

– Played on 14U NJ AYF All-Star Team at AYF Nationals.
– Depending on scheme, he has all the skills to play both inside and outside linebacker right now.
– Also a productive running back on offense, he’s a good-looking athlete right now. Speed, strength and downhill tilt make him tough to deal with.

Without knowing he was even going to be at the tryout just 24 hours later, we covered Berecsky last Friday in article about 2028 New Jersey athletes to know. In person, Berecsky lived up to the hype of his film and was pretty much the player we thought he was. While certainly not the six-foot he was reported at, he still has pretty good height and a body that looks like he can play multiple positions on the field. With the amount of skill guys and pieces they have to move around, I’m confident Berecky will have a place–but the question will remain where. He ran the ball well and looked fast. Also looked attacking and strong in bag/fit drills as a defensive player. Berecsky didn’t make this all-star team a year ago, but several coaches mentioned how he took significant steps in the off-season.

is listed at 6’0, 170 pounds (unverified size) right now and is one of the more impressive 2028’s in the Garden State thus far. Suiting up for Sayerville Bombers for his final season of pre-high school ball, he’s playing on a different level than those around him. As a running back he shows off favorable agility and looks like he sees holes or jump-cut lanes open before anyone else does. As a linebacker he has mastered the art of filling a hole and scraping to make a tackle on the same play–something that is quite difficult to do. It’s hard to say what position he projects to long term, because there is decent height right now, so I wouldn’t rule out a future at outside linebacker or strong safety. If he hasn’t already started, it would shock me if one of the storied private schools in New Jersey didn’t scoop up the Central Jersey standout.rn
