One of my favorite running backs in northern New Jersey, I am excited to see Sylas White Sylas White 5’9″ | 165 lbs | RB Boonton | 2025 NJ compete in person at Prep Redzone’s Combine. Putting up a staggering 1362 yards and 17 touchdowns in his junior season, Sylas is a back that can be fed the ball play after play and never lose any steam. Running out of the Wing-T, Sylas gets plenty of opportunities to showcase what he is capable of.
Taking off in a full sprint, Sylas turns the corner and gets upfield and out of the backfield quickly. Following his lead blockers, Sylas has an uncanny ability to dodge in and out of traffic as he picks up yardage. What stands out the most in Sylas’ game is his ability to stop on a dime and reroute his path. He can go from a sprint to full stop very quickly, making the defender miss as he moves laterally swiftly.
While there are no Hudl highlights to break down, there is reason to believe Jayden Haynes Jayden Haynes 6’0″ | 150 lbs | DB Hun School Of Princeton | 2027 NJ is a player that deserves our attention. Listed as a defensive back for The Hun School, we know Jayden is competing with the best the state has to offer. Already taking visits to Bryant and Ohio State, there is much to look forward to in Jayden’s future.

Here is a player outside of my state but I feel compelled to cover since he will be showcasing in New Jersey. A Quarterback for Holy Cross in New York, Yandiel is a dynamic playmaker that is elusive enough to get out of any sticky situation. A player that seems to flourish under tension, I really like how Yandiel uses his feet to navigate around the pocket to give himself better throwing lanes. He also has a very quick release, allowing him to get the ball downfield quickly when there’s pressure in his face. I am looking forward to see what Yandiel can show two Saturdays from now.
One of the younger players on the list, William Hayes William Hayes 5’11” | 185 lbs | LB The Hun School | 2027 State NJ is about to show the state that he needs to be recognized as a rising talent. A speedy, hybrid linebacker, Williams covers sideline to sideline and tries to get involved in every tackle his team makes.
William is a defender QB’s need to keep a tab on before the snap. He is quick in his pass rush, and can enter the backfield almost immediately after the play begins. With the type of pressure that he brings, he forces the QB out of their comfort zone and revert to scrambling out of the pocket. As William puts on more and more size he will have to be taken very seriously by his opponents.

Honing from Donovan Catholic, Carter Smith Carter Smith 5’10” | 300 lbs | OL Donovan Catholic | 2027 NJ is a pulling guard know for leading his backs to daylight. Carter pivots quickly from his 3 point stance and can hug tight to the line to carve a path for his ball carrier. Aggressive off of the line, Carter can deliver a lethal punch that stuns the defender in his place. Carter is a lineman we should be paying attention to at the combine.
