Barze can absolutely fly, and he can score from anywhere on the field. I’m willing to bet only a handful of players across the country had touchdowns longer than 85 yards on both sides of the ball like Barze had last season. He’s one of our biggest stock-risers of the cycle, and we’re interested to see where he’ll spend the majority of his time for Mallard Creek after transferring in this offseason.

Quite simply, Tyrell was the best player on the field on Friday Night. Tyrell started as the Ravens’ running back, and probably had over 100 yards rushing on the ground easily. Tyrell also had a couple of nice catches out of the backfield, using his experience as a receiver to win against linebackers in pass coverage. Tyrell has elite athleticism and speed in the open field, and sometimes you can just see a player has “it”. His Head Coach, Kenneth McClamrock, believes Tyrell is the best 2028 prospect in Charlotte, and I think he made a very strong case with his play in this game. Tyrell also started in the secondary on defense.

Barze had one of the best seasons of any freshman defensive backs in the Charlotte area last season, playing extensively and racking up over 50 tackles and an interception. He impressed Matt Morrow at the Gardner Webb Megacamp and I listed him as a potential defender who could rise in the next rankings update in August. Barze has great upside and is a guy we’re watching closely.
