Making a giant jump up the latest rankings is of of Buford’s top defenders. Nuckles, a quick-reacting, technically-sound cornerback, is fresh off a dependable season for the state-champion Wolves. A consistent cover-corner who has no problem being physical against the run, Nuckles was a consistent defender who did his job all season long for one of the state’s top defenses, His recruitment is taking off, and so will his next Prep Redzone ranking. As a junior last season for the mighty Wolves, Nuckles made 44 tackles, four TFLs and four INTs to go along with seven pass-deflections. He’s a breakout prospect to keep a close eye on moving forward.

A playmaking cornerback for the mighty Buford Wolves, Nuckles gave the state-champions a reliable cover corner who can read the quarterback and make a big play on the football. He’s smart, instinctive, and knows how to put himself in a position to make a big play. He covered some outstanding wide receivers all year long and more than held his own as the Wolves, led by their defense, went on to an undefeated season last fall. As a junior, Nuckles made 44 tackles, four INTs and broke up seven more passes. His recruitment is soaring and he’s right in the middle of it, along with a big bump in the next updated 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.

Nuckles is in the midst of a breakout junior season, where he has emerged as the best DB against the ball for Buford. He projects as a corner and has adequate size to play that position at any level. He is light on his feet, has fluid hips, and does an excellent job of locating and playing the ball. Nuckles can match at the top of his routes and runs the routes for receivers when he does so. Reps on offense and with the ball in his hand add more context to his speed and athleticism profile. Nuckles has a P4 grade for me, and his list of D1/FBS offers leads me to believe that’s the next step in his recruitment.

Since this profile has been updated, Nuckles has grown to 5’11 167 and has moved primarily to the RB/LB spot. He was real smooth running the ball Sunday and had limited carries but finished with 4 carries for 75 yards with the shortest run being 7 yards. Good long frame with outstanding vision and acceleration at the line of scrimmage.
Outlook: Nuckles plays at Buford which is one of the top programs in the State for developing talent. The multisport ATH has outstanding potential as he continues to physically develop.
