The Buford Wolves have all the talent in the world, and a lot of their talent is on the defensive side of the ball. They are fresh off a national championship victory, and one of their better players on the roster is Ethan HauserEthanHauser

, who played great this last season and will be even better in his final season before he finds himself playing college football as a freshman. He is very gifted and is worth keeping tabs on, as he is a player who is viewed as a possible top-10 defensive back in the state by the time he finishes his high school career.
One of the top safety prospects in Georgia for the 2027 class, Hauser is a quick-reacting defender who closes well in coverage and knows how to tackle. Just a sophomore last season, Hauser made an impact for an incredibly talented Buford defense and should be one of the best players on their roster in 2025. He brings a lean frame, strong ball skills, and natural athleticism. He earned big offers recently from Georgia and Miami this summer and is currently ranked as the No. 7 DB prospect in Georgia for his class.
Hauser has been a well recruited youngster dating back to the beginning of his freshman season. With a recent offer from Georgia Tech and more buzz this offseason, he is undergoing yet another recruiting surge. The intrigue around Hauser is obvious. He is an elite traits prospect, coming in at an athletic 6’2 185 with good speed and movement patterns. On offense, he spends most of his time on the outside at WR, where he is a mismatch threat. He can quickly get up on DBs and possesses the leaping and ball skills to highpoint the ball. However, defense might be his future home, as he seems to play with more of an edge at that spot. He aggressively clicks downhill and sizes up ball carriers before he tackles. When going up with receivers, he aggressively attacks the catch point and is difficult to drop the ball over for QBs. As he refines around the edges as an athlete and develops the footwork needed to react with WRs at the top of their routes, he should become a difference maker on varsity.
Like Judson Harris above, Hauser looks to be up next at Buford High School in Georgia. It shouldn’t come as any surprise that many of the top 2027 prospects come from feeder systems to some of the best high schools in each state. Buford is currently ranked No.1 in Georgia and No.6 in the nation. Hauser is one of the many reasons the Buford eighth-grade team is 4-0, and just like the high school team, is also undefeated on the year. He capped off their most recent victory with a 92-yard house call interception, breaking several tackles on his way to a touchdown. At 5-foot-10 and 140-pounds he has ideal size for a Defensive Back getting ready to enter the high school ranks. At this level he can play both Corner and Safety, but looking ahead, I see him as a Strong Safety that can really make it difficult to throw or run on. He obviously has the ball skills to intercept some passes but I love what he brings in run support. He’s a very good tackler and could essentially act as another Linebacker walked down into the box if needed.
