is a true impact defensive lineman and one of the most complete prospects in the 2027 class, which is why he sits at No. 1 and is committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders football. He brings a rare blend of size, athleticism, and motor that immediately stands out on film.
At the point of attack, Jalen is explosive off the ball with a quick first step that allows him to gain early leverage and control reps. He plays with natural power, strong hands, and the ability to shed blocks consistently. Against the run, he’s disciplined in his gap, holds his ground, and finishes plays while still showing the ability to penetrate and create disruption in the backfield.
What separates him is how well he moves for his size. He runs extremely well for a defensive lineman, showing range to chase plays outside the box and make tackles in space. That kind of mobility, combined with his physical tools, makes him scheme versatile and tough to game plan against.
As a pass rusher, he collapses the pocket with power but also shows flashes of technique, using his hands and leverage to win inside. Pair that with a nonstop motor, and you get a defender who impacts the game on every down.
Overall, Jalen projects as a high-level, game-changing DL with the tools to anchor a defensive front. He’s physical, athletic, and relentless—exactly the type of player you build a defense around.

One of the best overall players in the state and the best defensive linemen in the country, Brewster is an elite 3-tech force with impressive athleticism. Brewster has lived in the backfield throughout the start of his junior campaign after a dominant sophomore season that also saw him get a hefty load of carries on offense. That speaks to his unreal athleticism at the position with his already P4-Level frame and strength. Expect the game-wrecker to play a major role tonight. Jalen holds offers from basically every big program in the country.

. At 6-foot-2 and 190-pounds, Brewster looks is nearly impossible to bring down one-on-one. He’s built like a combination of former New York Giants Running Back Brandon Jacobs and current Tennessee Titans Running Back, Derrick Henry. The combination of speed and power he displays is unlike anyone else in the country. Drives his knees high in the air as he runs for power, in addition to the speed to run away from people. Brewster is in the Cedar Hill feeder program and should be there next year. He’s also the son of Robert Brewster, who was a third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2009.
