Gongwer is someone who is viewed as a top player at the camp. He is one of the main players on the defensive line in the state of Georgia for the 2029 class and is ranked inside the top five for the class and state at the position. Gongwer is going to be a star with the Buford Wolves and is someone many believe will be an MVP at this event. Gongwer will lead the way for the rest of the prospects at the position, and he will have the chance to truly move up in our rankings.

Gongwer was one of the later additions to this showcase, and he is the highest-rated defensive lineman who will be in attendance. He is joining the showcase from Buford, a school that consistently produces studs on the line on both sides. Gongwer is one of the names who we believe will find a way to climb in the rankings following this event, as he is set for what could be a game-changing event for him in his recruitment.

Gongwer is such an amazing talent in the trenches. He’s a guy that plays the game right and is only going to continue to develop into an even better player that will only heighten his college football prospect chances. He’s certainly already a big time prospect and that will only grow as the seasons come along.

Gongwer is certainly known and has been talked about across the state in the 2029 class. I have covered him several times and he is a guy who is going to keep getting better and become more special. At 6-foot-2, Reece Gongwer Reece Gongwer 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL/OL Buford | 2029 State GA is a dominant force on the defensive line, disrupting offenses and controlling the line of scrimmage with ease. His combination of strength, size, and quickness allows him to shed blockers, collapse the pocket, and shut down the run game before it even starts. Whether he’s taking on double teams or exploding off the ball to make a play, he consistently finds ways to wreak havoc in the backfield. His instincts and technique make him a nightmare for opposing offensive linemen, and his relentless motor ensures he’s always in the mix, causing problems for quarterbacks and running backs alike.

What separates Reece from the rest is his ability to make game-changing plays. He’s not just a space-eater—he’s a playmaker, using his power to drive blockers back and his agility to chase down ball carriers. Gongwer is one of my favorite players in this 2029 class and for great reason. He’s a team player, a leader and a guy who follows it all up with a technically sound style game with great upside. Obviously, Gongwer is a great player and is going to continue to develop into an even greater player. Buford has a great one!

Reece Gongwer Reece Gongwer 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL/OL Buford | 2029 State GA is a youngster who moved well in testing and still has his growth spurt ahead of him. He caught my eye in testing, where he showed some good change of direction and hustle for a big guy. He is athletic and plays with good leverage, allowing him to get good depth on the speedy rushers and get underneath the bigger guys to anchor. Gongwer will be battle-tested at Buford. I am intrigued to see how he looks when he hits his next big growth spurt.

A big time player who I feel like is a no brainer when it comes to guys who translate smoothly to the high school level and plays pretty early in the first or even second season. Gongwer is a huge talent in this 2029 class and his potential is through the roof. Gongwer will have no issues translating especially as he develops.

Though Gongwer stars on the defensive line, he’s also a very elite offensive lineman and is a player that can likely choose one day at the next level on what he wants to play. Reece is a physical player who has a very good frame standing at 6’2 in the 2029 class. Gongwer has an excellent game IQ which helps him in all aspects of the requirements of his position.

Playing primarily Defensive Tackle, Gongwer was a prospect that kept catching my eye on this 7th grade Georgia Future Stars defense. He’s already a big kid who’s listed at 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds, but has to be knocking on the door of 6-foot-2. He’s in that strong Buford pipeline, where he’ll get a ton of great coaching to make him even better. He has somewhat of a Defensive End’s build right now, but with his bigger frame, I could see him packing on the weight to become an athletic DT.
