They defeated Springfield 48-20 to make it back to the 5A State Title Game. In the victory, Beals was his usual dominant self. He threw for 273 yards and 5 touchdowns in the game. Beals is a talented quarterback, and now he gets to go back to the State Championship game.

Dynamic in everything he does, however I feel that Beals toughness in the pocket sticks out the most. Some would assume Beals is a lankier QB who’s more of a run first type of guy, that’s so far from the case. Beals stays in the pocket working progressions and most importantly, isn’t phased by any pressure. Beals lights up defenses with his beautiful deep balls, while complimenting that aspect of his game with athletic capabilities when it is time for him to run. Beals is someone going into his senior season who is gonna be a real threat at the helm for Roman Catholic.

His ability to make plays inside and outside the pocket is excellent, as he is a good athlete. His recruiting has been quiet for a while, so it was noteworthy that he said he is going to visit Syracuse coming up in a few weekends. He is a good fit for Syracuse, even though they have 1 quarterback committed already in the class, but plenty of colleges get two committed quarterbacks in the same class.

6’1, 175 pounds. 4.0 GPA. Currently ranked as the second-best QB prospect among PA 2026s. Identified through the PRZ Next process before taking a high school snap. Was once ranked the top overall recruit in this class.

Recruiting aside, Semaj Beals Semaj Beals 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Roman Catholic | 2026 State PA has little left to prove. One of the best Roman Catholic QBs to come through the PCL in recent memory, if not ever. Production as a freshman, all the way through to what will be his senior year this coming Fall. A respectful and hard-working young man who has led Roman far into the post-season with each passing year. Factor in recruiting, Beals’s stock has teetered back-and-forth between Power Four lock and Group of Five take. Kent State, Delaware, Delaware State, Buffalo, and Eastern Michigan are recent programs to extend offers to the coveted PCL QB. This is a G5 program-changing type of prospect. If one of the above-mentioned programs lands Beals, he’ll likely be the crown jewel of the respective recruiting class that brings him in.

Beals is good inside and outside of the pocket. He has excellent mechanics and footwork in the pocket. He also does a good job scrambling around and making plays with his feet. Beals will need to play his best game if they are going to knock off McDevitt.

He has great footwork and mechanics and throws a beautiful football. In Friday night’s victory over Hollidaysburg, he threw 3 touchdown passes. He threw a 70-yard touchdown pass that was a great throw. He put the right amount of touch on the ball and the receiver ran under it. Beals is constantly showing why he is a top quarterback in the 2027 class.

“Film Review: The top quarterback in the 2026 class has all the tools of an elite quarterback. He has good mechanics in the pocket and delivers an excellent football. He is also a good athlete who moves around well. Beals is a talented quarterback and should improve even more in the next few years.

Off-Season Update: Beals recruitment has picked up over the summer. He has traveled around to different college campuses, competing at their various camps and 7 on 7 tournaments. He has been at Colorado, Duke, Penn State, and Rutgers in the last month. He should continue to garner a ton of attention in the fall”.

Offers wise he has a good amount of schools to choose from.
