Eyan Stead is an excellent athlete for Roman Catholic. During the game, he caught a touchdown pass from

and played well as a defensive back as well. He even caused a fumble when he stripped the McDevitt running back. Stead is a good player, and he showed he is one of the best two-way players in the state.

Eyan Stead is one of the best athletes in the 2026 class. His speed and elusiveness are impressive. As a wide receiver, he can score anytime he touches the ball. His ability to make plays after the catch is special. He also has tremendous speed to run by defenders. The other position he excels at is as a defensive back. Stead vs. some of the McDevitt athletes will be a great test for both sides.

Eyan Stead is an explosive athlete who plays as a wide receiver and a defensive back at a high level. His ability to make plays as a wide receiver is impressive, as he is good after the catch to make defenders miss for big plays. I have not seen much on his Twitter timeline, in terms of Colleges, but it does show him with an offer to Penn State from September 2024, not sure how real this offer though. Regardless, Stead is a talented player who should have a good chance at playing college football.
Beyond blessed to receive an offer from Penn State University!! @RomanCatholicHC @NextLevelQBs @EdOBrienCFB @DBarnes_18 @coachmhagans pic.twitter.com/cn3eVNHqr1

5’10, 180 pounds. Up 10 pounds since the December 2026 PA update. Racked up nearly 1,000 yards receiving on nearly 50 receptions. 13 scores, three interceptions, currently ranks as one of the best DBs in all of Pennsylvania. Also places as a top ten overall player in his class. Identified by PRZ before he blew up on the recruiting trail. Last three offers come from Penn State, Eastern Michigan, and New Hampshire football.
Representing Philly’s Finest and Roman Catholic football.
Here’s what I had to say on Eyan Stead nearly two years to date.
Northeast’s Kahmir Prescott and Roman Catholic’s Eyan Stead share vastly different builds. Kahmir stands at about 6’1, 190 pounds, whereas Stead is hardly touching 5’10, weighing in at a self-listed 160 pounds. I’ve had the pleasure of watching both prospects live, as well as their tapes. Production might not be comparable, but that’s not the point of this piece. When thinking of Prescott’s game, the word play-maker leaps into my mind immediately. Elite athleticism, athleticism that demands the football. Prescott has his hands in all aspects of the game, kick/punt return capable, a turnover-capable DB too. Prescott can easily be fed the ball on offense if need be too. He’s a premier athlete at Northeast HS.
I see the same future for Eyan Stead at Roman Catholic. Yes, Eyan will set up outside at DB well, he’s not going to back down from a single prospect in the state in terms of man coverage. Given his build, I imagine Stead will be used in multiple alignments at DB. I also imagine that Coach Prete will do what he can to feed Stead the ball at WR or RB, as his pure athleticism is too great to leave on the sideline. This larger role might not come this Fall, Stead will have to pay his dues and live with whatever role is provided, yet I can see the styles blending. Stead currently has one offer out of Boston College, whereas Prescott just got done releasing his Top Five about a month ago to the date.

is a difference-maker on both sides of the ball Roman Catholic. As a safety, he is good against the run and defending the pass. He is a good tackler, especially in the open field. He comes up-field and makes plenty of tackles. His ability to read the play and come flying up-field is impressive. He made several good tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. Then, as a pass defender, he does a great job of dropping deep into his zone, reading the quarterback’s eyes, and making a play on the ball thrown near him. Then, on offense, he is a playmaker. He was used as a slot wide receiver, and he made a ton of plays. His ability to catch the ball and make defenders miss is impressive. Stead has been getting a ton of love from several college programs, and I expect it will continue going forward as he is one of the best players in the state.

Eyan Stead is a good two-way player for Roman Catholic. He is equally as good as a wide receiver as he is as a defensive back. At wide receiver, he does an excellent job after the catch. He catches the ball and makes defenders miss in space. At defensive back, he has excellent coverage skills. He does a good job making plays on the ball thrown in his direction. Stead continues to shine each week for Roman Catholic.

Eyan Stead is an elite player at cornerback. He has excellent coverage skills. He does a great job of keeping his leverage and staying in front of receivers. He uses his hands well to engage and control receivers. Then when the ball is thrown in his direction he shows excellent ball skills by breaking up passes thrown his way. Stead has a ton of potential at cornerback and should only improve going forward. He received an offer from Akron earlier this year and I expect more offers to come his way once he has a strong Junior year.

The Roman Catholic standout has recently added offers from Wake Forest and West Virginia to add to Power Four offers from Boston College, Duke, and Indiana. Stead was also notably just down at Alabama this past weekend as well. With a strong June of camps, don’t be surprised if Stead adds more offers to his offer sheet.

For a bit of time, I had questioned whether or not programs were missing Eyan Stead through the star-studded Roman depth chart. Yet, since his Akron offer earlier this year, the top five DB prospect has heard back from ACC programs in the form of scholarship offers. Boston College and West Virginia University both offered Stead in recent weeks. On top of the ACC love, Stead Jr. broke onto a Big10 board, said board being Indiana Univerisity’s. Our ranking of Stead now more than justified.

Akron focused heavy on 2025s across Philadelphia recently. Yet I’m thankful Coach Wartman saw Eyan Stead’s capabilities and offered him despite being a current underclassman. I have gone on record saying Stead is a true Power Five prospect, I’ll stand on that still. I’m a bit surprised more schools aren’t honing in on his skillset at corner, kid carries quality tape too. That being said, there’s plenty of time ahead of the young, highly-ranked DB. Hardly any time to panic. I personally would be a bit quicker to jump on Stead.
