Expert Analysis
Dylan Callaghan-Croley | Prep Redzone Scout
A defensive tackle at the next level, Reid has nice size for the position already at 6-foot-1 and 285-pounds. Does a great job at filling space in the middle of the defenisve line but don’t think that he’s just a one-tech defenisve tackle, he will be a three-tech at the next level thanks to a very good burst off the ball. He moves really well for someone his size and is a legitimate threat to get to the quarterback. Elon is getting a very good player in Reid.

has been one of the best defensive linemen in the state for the past few years and many would tell you that he’s the best in a very talented pool of players. Reid has been nothing short of dominant for the Bulldogs this year and the Martinsburg front seven has shut down some very good rushing attacks this season. Reid leads the way in those feats and if he were just a touch bigger he would have some P5 offers. At this moment, he is committed to D1 Elon which is an absolute steal for the FCS program. West Virginia has produced some NFL talent on the defensive line the past decade and Reid has put himself in the conversation as one of the best in that time frame. He’s likely the leader for the Stydahar Award as the state’s best lineman this year and just earned back-to-back EPAC Defensive Player of the Year awards.

has been one of the state’s best DL for a while now and the Elon commit hasn’t slowed down any this season. The 6’1 285 big man is really quick off the ball for his size and has a great bull rush. I can’t praise him enough for just how fast he is once the ball is snapped which makes him a nightmare to block for opposing teams. Reid is splitting double teams often because he’s already in their gap before they can get their hands on him. His hand fighting is also very good and Reid’s motor is really high and shows a lot of effort on every snap. His feet are also always moving and he’s always running to the ball with maximum effort. Reid also does a nice job of getting his hands on offensive linemen first and asserting control over them.
