There are now almost 400 names in our 2024 Rankings with PRZ WV ranking every senior prospect that had film on their HUDL to evaluate. Here are the Top 10 defensive linemen in the 2024 class!
Our top defenisve lineman, Michael Lunsford Michael Lunsford 6’3″ | 255 lbs | DL Cabell Midland | 2024 State WV is one of the top 10 prospects in the state of West Virginia. Lunsford has quality size at 6-foot-2 and pushing 230-pounds but is a great athlete, also playing a bit of tight end. He has a good first step and good burst that allows him to get into opposing backfields swiftly. Clearly a great athlete and one that was the best on the field every game he’s played for the last few years. We believe he has a good chance to have a really nice career with Marshall.
A defensive tackle at the next level, Reid has nice size for the position already at 6-foot-1 and 285-pounds. Does a great job at filling space in the middle of the defenisve line but don’t think that he’s just a one-tech defenisve tackle, he will be a three-tech at the next level thanks to a very good burst off the ball. He moves really well for someone his size and is a legitimate threat to get to the quarterback. Elon is getting a very good player in Reid.
Highlights
Another defenisve tackle with really good size at 6-foot-2 and 280-pounds, Clark is alwawys a pleasure to watch on film. He’s been a dominant defenisve tackle ofr Hurricane for quite sometime and possesses a lot of the same traits that Rashad Reid Rashad Reid 6’1″ | 280 lbs | DL Martinsburg | 2024 State WV shows. A good first step, understands his strnegth and uses it to his advantage, high motor athlete, excellent burst and moves really well for his size. Like those above him, Clark is a very productive defensive lineman. Towson is getting a highly quality prospect in Clark.
At 6-foot-3 and 250-pounds, Goins could grow intoa defensive tackle at the enxt level or stay at defenisv end as well where’s already built quite well. When playing off the edge, Goins shows a good first step and bend inh is game allowing him to get into the backfield. Shows good athleticsim and agility to go along with quality straigth line speed. Physical with the upper body strength to shed and battle through blocks. Has a PWO offer from West Virginia which would be a great PWO pickup for the Mountaineers.
Great size at 6-foot-3 and 295-pounds, a strong and physical player who was highly impressive for Linsly throughout this seaosna s a highly-producive defensive tackle. Nice first step but uses his size ands trength really well in orde rto shed blocks. Good athlete epsecially for his size and another high-motor player as well. Superb defensive tackle all the way around. Riedel has a PWO offer from Kent State and D2 offers as well.
Another defneisve end, Hendrix has good size at 6-foot-2 and 255-poounds. There is the potential for him to grow into a defensive tackle at the next level. Also a quality offensive lineman. Hendrix has a nice first step and quality burst to his game as well and has a few quality pass rushing moves to go along with it. Does a good job of setting the edge against the run and then is a relelntless pass rusher. Could become a really nice defensive end or tafkle at the next level.
Highlights
A lot of upside in Woolaston thanks to a big 6-foot-4 frame, has plenty of room to add another 35-50 pounds onto that frame at the enxt elvel. Has a WVU PWO offer which could be once again really intriuging thanks to that size and to be in an FBS stength and conditioning program could do wonders for his potential and ceiling. Very good athlete who shows the plus skillsets as both as a pass rusher and a edge setter against the run.
Over the summer we described Kuhl as “tenacious” and I think that is still the perfect word to desceirve the 6-foot-2, 225-pound defensive lineman. He’s a high-poitenital defenisve end out of Winfield who has quality athleteicism, a very good first step and is highly physical. He’s already dominant and as he continues to grow and add more size to that 6-foot-2 frame, he’s going to be a menace to opposing ofensive lineman and be a nightmare to try and stop.
Great size at 6-foot-4 and 235-pounds headlines what is a lot of untapped potential for Johnson in my opinion. Has great length as well and still has plenty of room to fill into his frame as well. He’s a bit raw but has a nice first step and is already a quality pass rusher. He may be a passing rushing specialist at the enxt level int hat regard but there’s plenty of potential in Johnson if someone is willing to give him the patience.
Versatile defensive lineman who has played a variety of positions throughout his high school career but projects to a defensive tackle. Very good size at 6-foot-4 and 265-pounds. Williams is very physical defensive lineman, taking a lot of what he does on the offensive side of the ball as a tackle. Quality first step off teh ball as a defensive tackle and shows decent athleticism to pair with a very high-motor. High ceiling prospect who has a pretty decent floor as well.
