, one of the top-ranked linebackers in the nation. Abrams chose Georgia over a trio of college football powerhouses—Michigan, Oregon, and Alabama—solidifying his status as one of the most sought-after defensive prospects in the country.
Abrams’ decision speaks volumes about his mindset and priorities. By choosing Georgia, he’s stepping into a program known for elite development, day-to-day competition, and a championship-caliber culture. The Bulldogs’ proven track record of developing elite linebackers clearly resonated with Abrams, who thrives in high-pressure environments and embraces top-tier competition, something he showcased by earning MVP honors at the Rivals Camp in June.

Abrams continues to prove he’s one of the most instinctive playmakers in the state. His ability to read and react is elite, allowing him to consistently disrupt plays from his linebacker position, whether in the backfield or out on the perimeter. This past season, he even showcased his versatility by hauling in a receiving touchdown, highlighting his athleticism on both sides of the ball. Abrams wrapped up his junior campaign with an impressive stat line: 77 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 1 interception, and a blocked punt. As he returns for his senior season, Abrams is poised to be a dominant force for the Eagles in 2025.

Nick is a player I loved this season and he may have made one of the biggest jumps from last springs ratings to these most recent ones. I will admit I missed on him a bit but he also filled out his frame and took his game to the next level and earned being the #1 LB in the MD/DC/DE 2026 class.
I saw Nick play in McDonogh’s first game of the year against Mt. Zion Prep this past fall and he was absolutely lights out! I texted him out to some colleges right away after that game saying he was a Power 4 kid and he went on to gather plenty of Power 4 offers & interest as the year went on. He is a great frame kid, muscled up and has elite length with an 83″ wingspan. Nick plays like he has a score to settle. Gets sideline to sideline and chase down ball carriers. Comes downhill with intentions, Fills/plugs and can drop the hammer tackling through ball carriers. A good athlete for his position as well, Nick shows well in coverage getting multiple INTs on the season. Can turn and run with TEs and RBs out of the backfield.
Overall, Nick is a LB that plays fast, physical and with a high football IQ. He is certainly one of the premier players in the area.

Sacks
Abrams concluded the season with 4 sacks, ranking third in the MIAA. He also posted 77 tackles, placing him sixth overall, and recorded 9 tackles for loss (TFLs), tying for first in the league. In addition to his impressive defensive statistics, Abrams also blocked a punt and intercepted a pass.
Standing at 6’2″-6’3″ and weighing 210 pounds, Abrams possesses a strong, athletic frame that moves faster than it appears. He opens up his stride and becomes a missile to the ball, demonstrating relentless pursuit from the backfield to chasing down receivers after a catch. Abrams currently holds offers from top programs, including Penn State, South Carolina, and Wisconsin, among others.

I was on the sideline for McDonogh’s game vs. Mt Zion Prep (MD) this past Friday, and it would be hard to say Nick wasn’t the best play on the field that night. He was all over the field making plays and was a menace for the Mt Zion offense. Nick racked up 10 total tackles, with 3 sacks, 1 TFL and 1 INT.
Nick was a missile all game long, flying to the ball and hit sticking dudes left and right. He can play in space getting sideline to sideline or dropping back in coverage. For his interception, he flashed fluid hips and good instincts reading the route and QB to put himself in the right spot to make the play. Nick is also capable of playing in the box, coming down hill, fills/plugs the gaps, sheds off blockers and stops the ball carrier in their path.
With his frame at 6’2″ 210lbs. and self reported 82″ wingspan, Nick will continue to fill out nicely and add strength/bulk. He currently holds 1 offer from Penn State, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t pick up more in the next few weeks. He is a no doubt Power 5 prospect in my my mind and he is in line to make a huge jump in our next rankings.
