Cashman has the size, speed, and instincts to dominate from the middle linebacker position. He has a college-ready frame at 6’4″, 220 pounds, and his size and strength make him a reliable run stopper who fills gaps and blows up plays before they gain momentum. He finished the season with four takeaways, three interceptions and one forced fumble, and flies around making tackles outside the hashes, chasing down screens and short passes.

Cashman isn’t just a linebacker. On offense, he’s also a weapon for McDonogh School, consistently gaining yards working along the hashes. He finished with four touchdowns, three receiving and one interception return, showing he can contribute to the scoreboard while also preventing teams from scoring. Cashman currently holds six offers, including University of Delaware, West Virginia University, and University of Pittsburgh.

Cashman is an athlete who plays both linebacker and tight end. I’ll focus on him as a linebacker in this evaluation. He shows strong instincts and play recognition at the middle linebacker position. I had the opportunity to see him in person and review his most recent highlights. Cashman consistently fills run lanes and usually meets ball carriers at the line of scrimmage. When it comes to pass coverage, he’s generally in zone and does a solid job of reading the quarterback’s eyes, enabling him to disrupt passes. Cashman is a physical and reliable tackler. I’m impressed with his ability to quickly close down on whoever has the football. Solid Division I prospect.

Cashman was credited with at least one sack (that I can verify) and pressured the quarterback multiple times. He also returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown late in the second quarter. Cashman was a disruptive force for the Eagles and had multiple tackles.

He stands 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, with the ideal build. His highlights show his ability to slip blocks and make tackles in space. Cashman looks more than comfortable when he drops into pass coverage and can still get after the quarterback with his range and vision.

Cashman possesses a good burst around the corner as a pass rusher and can wreak havoc if left unblocked. His instincts are strong, as he reads plays before they are fully formed and can shut down screens, shoot gaps, and make critical stops. Cashman’s sideline-to-sideline range also makes him an effective defender in the against the run and pass game.

Cashman’s strength, athleticism, and versatility give him a high ceiling. He is a developing linebacking prospect with the potential to be a dominant defender by the time he’s a senior.
