Expert Analysis
Cory Lemer | Prep Redzone Scout
CJ Davis was another insane athlete who made an appearance in Elizabeth. The Maryland Prospect, suited up for Black Ops, as the attempted to defend their crown from the PA Classic. Davis was outstanding across the weekend in Elizabeth, and made plays in every possible aspect of the game. His hands were insane, and he hauled in big play after big play. Davis was a playmaker anyone and any team needs. His ability to impact the game, and make plays across the board is insane.

. He was outstanding the entire 7-on-7 tournament. His ability to make plays on both sides of the ball is impressive. As a wide receiver, he is unstoppable. He is especially good at making defenders miss in the open field. Then, on defense, he is a playmaker. Davis was one of the stars for Black Ops as they won the 18U championship.

is a stud of an athlete. Playing for Black Ops team at the 7-on-7 tournament, they won the 18U championship. Davis is a catching machine. If the ball is near him, he will usually make the catch. Then his ability to make defenders miss in the open field is impressive. Davis is a talented player in the 2028 class who can do it all.

bring his two-way ability to the tournament this weekend. At 5’11”, 170 pounds, he has a solid build that allows him to compete physically at both wide receiver and safety. His versatility and athleticism should translate well in space during 7-on-7 play. Davis is a player who could make plays on both sides of the ball.

The young fella had a strong game at cornerback with multiple pass breakups and a couple of tackles that I saw. He demonstrated strong coverage skills and physicality, effectively locking down the Riverdale Baptist passing game.

Davis has early offers from Wisconsin, Boston College, South Carolina, Delaware State, Maryland, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh. He’s a two-way player with a high ceiling as a safety due to his awareness, tackling ability, and ball skills. Davis reads plays fast and reacts even faster. I like the fact that he can handle man and zone coverage responsibilities from the safety position. Davis Is willing and technically sound and doesn’t shy away from contact. It’s worth noting that he’s a weapon on offense as a wide receiver and his dangerous after the catch.
