Griffin makes a jump of over 80 spots to just outside the top 100 overall in the recent rankings update after his impressive spring season. He was a standout performer at the National Preps Showcase in May and has continued to catch coaches eyes through out the summer camp season. Griffin is a safety that can play in the box and in coverage. He has an excellent football IQ and great instincts on when to go make a play on the ball. When attacking the ball in the air he plays with strong hands, able to make difficult aggressive interceptions. Griffin is smooth in his pack pedal and transitions, stays in phase with fluid feet/hips.
Overall Griffin is a solid athlete with outstanding awareness and playmaking ability from the SS spot. Currently only holding 1 FCS offer from Wagner, Griffin is a no brainer FCS offer kid and plenty of schools will be monitoring him this fall.
Griffin was lights out and eye opening during the Showcase and easily could be considered the DB MVP of the event. Measuring in at 6’1″+ 180lbs and running a 4.8 laser 40 and a 9’6″ SBJ. Griffin shined in both drill work and 1v1s. With quick feet and fluid hips, he was smooth in his transitions and played fast. He displayed excellent ball skills all day long. With good eye discipline and quick to read the play and break on the ball. Griffin made one handed grabs and diving interceptions during the day locking receivers down. Currently holding an offer from Wagner, he should easily have a handful of FCS offers in my mind. A physical, high football IQ playmaking safety is something many teams shoule be after.

closes downhill well and is able to make stops for short gains. He brings power behind his hits when his timing is right. As a veteran next season, Griffin will be an asset to the Eagles’ defense. He reads and reacts quickly, gets involved in coverage downfield, and can be a playmaker in the second level.
Griffin is a player who will turn some heads this fall and be an impactful player for McDonogh at Safety. I can see him making a strong debut in the next 2027 rankings after what I saw from him in the scrimmage vs McNamara.
He has good ball skills and eyes when reading passes as he showed by making a beautiful diving interception during the scrimmage. He read the QB, quickly reacted, closed on the ball leaping out and securing the INT. Griffin is smooth in his pack pedal and transitions. He stays in phase and shows a high football IQ, reading routes and makes smart breaks on the ball. A solid overall athlete, with fluid feet/hips, good awareness and ability to play in coverage & support the run makes Griffin an intriguing prospect this fall.
