Smith-Mayall missed last season with an injury but would have competed with a Big 10 commit for the starting quarterback position at JSerra.

He looked very good at the Battle at the Beach tournament last weekend. Smith-Mayall, was poised, spread the ball around well and had great touch on the deep throws.
