Moala had 45 tackles with a forced fumble and three interceptions for Leuzinger last season. He has since transferred to Santa Margarita and reclassified to the 2027 class.

He also had offers from Cal, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Michigan among others. Moala is the fifth player from California in UCLA’s 2027 recruiting class and the first defensive back.

He is an extremely versatile player that can impact the game in all three phases, and has tremendous natural instincts from his safety position and is able to come up in run support and make plays in the box. He has elite return abilities with downfield speed and is a long strider that covers ground quickly while able to make people miss in open space with short area twitch and start/stop abilities. He baits quarterbacks into bad throws over the middle, and breaks quickly on the ball and is a very high IQ player and technically sound especially for his age.
