One big question going into the Bixby rematch will be the status of senior running back

who ended up leading the Jenks rushing attack and was also a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield. Stanford is also one of Jenks’ best defensive players at the safety position. If Stanford has to pull double duty as a running back and safety, it could make for a long afternoon. But it’s something that he’s done multiple times this season when Carroll has battled nagging injuries. If Carroll is able to go, that’s a player who ran for over 180 yards back in week ten.

back there so Stanford could focus on defense. This year, Stanford has played more offense with Carroll missing time because of injuries. Stanford has been so consistent throughout the year and he is a big part of Jenks still being a serious state title contender despite the team going through all of the injuries. When it comes to Stanford as a prospect, he’s headed to the next level to play safety and he’s an excellent prospect at that position. He committed to Houston earlier this year and has remained loyal to that commitment throughout the fall.

showed in this game why he is committed to play college ball at Houston. He has explosive speed and solid strength, mixed with athleticism. There was one play that he broke away on a run that went 55-yards for a touchdown. On the way to the endzone, he hurdled a defender to help him get there.

, a Houston commit, as he played more running back on Friday than he has all season as injuries continued to disrupt the Jenks offense. Stanford showed that when he gets the football, good things usually happen as he went for over 200 yards and four touchdowns. Stanford’s focus this season has mainly been on defense at safety, and he had a good performance there as well, finishing with six tackles and an interception as the Trojans escaped Moore with a 49-41 victory. Jenks has tried to limit Stanford’s touches on offense to conserve his energy for defense, but it might be time to unleash him.Access all of Prep Redzone

. The senior is headed to the next level as a safety prospect, where he’s one of the top overall prospects in the state’s 2023 class. On offense, Stanford is an absolutely electric running back when he’s in the lineup. But the Trojan coaching staff is careful about how much they use Stanford on offense with how valuable he is on the defensive side of the ball. We expect to see Stanford get some looks on offense but it’s what he does with them that will make a difference. Stanford is a gamechanging athlete and the Trojans could use that on the offensive side of the ball as they face Union’s stout defense. But look for him to help the defense attempt to keep their dominance going.
