didn’t take long to get on our radar during his sophomore season. In the first half of the first game of the year, Klein played like a man possessed and immediately became a name we needed to follow moving forward. Klein would follow that up with a breakout sophomore season. And we mention him being a hybrid defender because he could play just about anywhere in this Jenks defense. He might be listed as a defensive back but Klein looks just as comfortable near the line of scrimmage like he’s a linebacker as he does in the secondary as a safety. Wherever Jenks puts Klein this season, look for him to make a lot of plays.

is in a similar boat to Waddell when it comes to his positional space at the next level. We watched Klein absolutely dominate opponents and terrorize offenses at all three levels of the Jenks defense. He would come off the edge, he would look the part as a traditional linebacker and he would also drop in coverage. Literally, wherever the Trojans needed Klein to line up, he was not only able to answer the call, he was able to play it at a high level. When we first started writing about Klein, we were leaning to the linebacker position. But things are starting to point to him being more of a standout in the secondary. But we’re on the record that it doesn’t matter where he plays, he’s an impact player.

moving forward. Then we went ahead and looked at Klein’s entire body of work and it’s hard not to be impressed with a player who can be a swiss army knife for this Jenks defense. As a linebacker, Klein gets from point A to point B in a hurry and he is a ferocious tackler. But then you also see other moments of his game where he’s lined up more as a roving safety or nickel back and can make plenty of plays in pass coverage. Based on the film that we watched from his sophomore season, there doesn’t appear to be much that Klein can’t do on the defensive side of the ball. And looking at what Jenks has back on defense, the Trojans have the potential to be filthy on that side of the ball.

was going to be a name to know in the state’s 2028 class. Klein is debuting in this latest ranking update as the #2 linebacker and he’s firmly in the top 20 for overall prospects. Klein is an absolute monster on the defensive side of the ball and his motor is one that doesn’t seem to slow down. We got a chance to watch Jenks in person back in week zero in the first half of their game with Edmond Santa Fe and it seemed like Klein was consistently in the backfield. Jenks had a very young defensive unit coming into this season so it seemed obvious that they would have some players have breakout moments early on in the season. Klein was one of the very first on that list. Jenks linebackers have had a lot of success over the last five years and Klein could be the next guy up. He’s going to be a name to remember as a defensive wrecking ball.
