The latest 2025 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 100 for the state’s 2025 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on five prospects that are not only newcomers to the 2025 rankings but they are making their debut relatively high.
One of the state’s leaders in interceptions was North Rock Creek sophomore Caleb Hawkins Caleb Hawkins 6’2″ | 205 lbs | ATH North Rock Creek | 2025 State OK . In fact, Hawkins was one of the better athletes in Class 3A during the 2022 football season. Not only did he finish with eight interceptions on the season, he also had a major impact on the offensive side of the ball. Whether it was as a running back or as a wide receiver, Hawkins was a dynamic athlete. North Rock Creek is nearly a brand new football program with just a few seasons under their belt. But they have a potential star in Hawkins and he’s just a sophomore. Hawkins also attended our camp over the weekend and it was our first chance to see him in person. While he was registered as a running back, Hawkins is listed for now as a defensive back but you can make the argument that he should be moved over to the athlete position. Hawkins is definitely a 2025 prospect to keep an eye on as we move forward.

One of the best performances that we saw in person during the 2022 football season was Millwood sophomore linebacker Cameron Carter Cameron Carter 6’1″ | LB Millwood | 2025 State OK in the 2A state championship game against Washington. Carter was an absolute monster in that game and he made a living in the backfield. Countless sacks, tackles for loss and nearly 20 total tackles made Carter one of the more impactful players in that game. Then we started talking to a few coaches and they agreed. Carter is one of the best linebackers in the state’s 2025 class. He enjoyed a breakout season during the 2022 football season and the future is incredibly bright for the Falcons. Millwood has a wealth of young talent right now so it’s hard to think that Millwood won’t be contending to make it right back to Edmond in 2023. Carter is one of the best inside linebackers that we watched in person during the 2022 season. He’s earned his way onto this list.
One of the 2025 prospects that we were intrigued by coming into the 2022 season was Jenks standout Hudson Ball Hudson Ball 6’2″ | 210 lbs | DL Jenks | 2025 State OK . The Trojans welcomed Ball to their program over the summer after he moved into Oklahoma from Arkansas. Ball was a standout running back in Arkansas but the Trojans needed Ball to play a different role in 2022. They put the standout athlete on the defensive line as an edge rusher. And with Jenks losing star running backs Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK and Jalyn Stanford Jalyn Stanford 6’0″ | 180 lbs | DB Jenks | 2023 State OK to graduation, it’s expected that Ball could return to the running back position in 2023. He honestly could be the next Stanford for the Trojans. While he doesn’t play defensive back like Stanford, we won’t rule out him playing primarily on defense while coming in for key moments and big plays at the running back position. Ball is a name to keep an eye on as we move into the offseason. We’re really looking forward to seeing how Jenks uses him moving forward.
One of the more intriguing prospects in the state’s 2025 class is Norman North standout Owen Eshelman Owen Eshelman 6’3″ | QB Norman North | 2025 State OK . Last year, Eshelman was an outstanding defensive back and made several clutch plays throughout the season at the safety position. But it appears that his future is going to be on the offensive side of the ball. Eshelman expects to replace 2023 standout Kamden Sixkiller Kamden Sixkiller 6’4″ | QB Norman North | 2023 State OK at the quarterback position this fall. The Norman North product showed off his abilities at the quarterback position over the weekend at our camp in Broken Arrow. There’s definitely some talent there so it’s going to be fun to see how the next six months play out. Regardless of what happens this fall with Eshelman on offense, we know that the Timberwolves have a legitimate playmaker that plays with versatility on the defensive side of the ball. He’s also a big contributor to the basketball team. The athleticism is clearly there.

Carl Albert has dudes. That’s no secret and Carl Albert sophomore Trystan Haynes Trystan Haynes 6’2″ | 165 lbs | ATH Carl Albert | 2025 State OK is yet another name that you need to watch moving forward. I personally watched Carl Albert in person four times during the 2022 season. One thing that stuck out to me was how Haynes looks very similar physically to Iowa State signee Tashawn James Tashawn James 6’2″ | DB Carl Albert | 2023 State OK . Haynes is so dynamic in all three phases of the game. He’s the next breakout player for the Titans. In the semifinal win over Grove, Haynes was a return specialist that could not be slowed down. Moving forward, the Carl Albert coaches are going to be able to get creative with how often they use Haynes. But if you’re looking for a name that might be flying under the radar right now that is about to blow up in the spring and summer, go ahead and write down the standout from Carl Albert. Look for Haynes to be the next Carl Albert prospect to get attention from power five programs.
