Injuries completely derailed Jenks running back Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK during his senior season. After leading the Trojans to a state championship in 2021, Carroll was ready to prove he was one of the state’s best athletes in 2022. But he could never get into a rhythm on the field as he dealt with nagging injuries throughout the year. Carroll has been a playmaker since he was just a freshman, bursting on the scene at Booker T Washington. Carroll has been incredibly productive throughout his career and has earned his spot as one of the best backs in the state’s 2023 class. He was one of the top available offensive prospects and eventually signed with Northern Iowa.

It was a rough senior season for Jenks running back Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK . There’s no other way to describe it. But that doesn’t take away from him being one of the top available running back prospects in the state’s 2023 class. The season began with Carroll having to sit out two non-district games. Then he got banged up with nagging injuries during the middle of the season and could just never get any momentum this fall. But when Carroll is healthy, he is one of the better backs in the state and he has been that since his freshman season. He is a very physical running back and even added some other elements to his game this season. He improved as a defensive back but we still think his future is as a running back in college.

Staying with the Jenks Trojans and staying in the Jenks backfield with senior running back Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK . The Jenks standout was an absolute star last year in the state championship game and he’s now healthy and determined to help the Trojans make it back to Edmond and contend once again for the state championship. Carroll had to miss significant time this season due to an early season suspension and then an injury later in the year. However, l Ike Owens Ike Owens 6'2" | QB Jenks | 2023 State OK , Carroll shined on the national stage against Bixby in week ten. He ran for 180 yards and had a breakaway 80-yard touchdown run in the win. Like the Trojans, Carroll is getting closer to full strength and is starting to peak at the right time.

It’s been an unlucky season for Jenks senior running back Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK . It began in the season opener when Carroll was ejected from the game and suspended for the next two games. Then Carroll was part of many Jenks starters that have dealt with injuries this season. Over the last few weeks, it appears that Carroll is getting back to full strength, which is bad news for the rest of 6A-1 as the Trojans look for a third consecutive state championship. Despite missing the majority of this season, Carroll is still one of the best running backs in this class when he’s healthy. He’s so productive at the running back spot and can be a workhorse if you need him to be. It seems like Carroll very rarely gets brought down behind the line of scrimmage and he’s as close to a lock to gaining at least five yards as you’ll find.

Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK showed looked impressive against Broken Arrow in the Game of the Week. He lived by the motto, “Go big or go home”, as he showed breakaway speed on a 65-yard touchdown run. On this play, he showed a quick burst off of the line to lose the defense and found himself wide open. There was another play that he had a 31-yard receiving touchdown. Those were his two touchdowns on the night, but he had several other statement plays. Multiple times, he showed his power to run up the middle of the field and carry the defenders for five or six yards. He has solid speed and great power. There were a few plays that he showed a little bit of elusiveness, showing a spin move and a few jukes to gain extra yards.

Now that we’re heading into the second half of the season, we expect two-time defending champion Jenks to flip that switch and turn into the contender we expected at the start of the season. The injuries and setbacks around Jenks have been well documented but the Trojans are ready to turn the page. And leading the way is senior running back Jaiden Carroll Jaiden Carroll 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Jenks | 2023 State OK , who is one of the best running backs in the state. After having to sit out two games in September, including their loss to rival Union, Carroll is ready to dominate on the field and breathe new life into this Jenks offense. On Friday night, the Trojans play host to Norman North and Carroll has to be excited about the match-up after seeing last week’s outcome. Broken Arrow had three different players finish with over 100 yards rushing. Carroll and the Jenks rushing attack will look to take advantage of that match-up as they try to gain momentum down the stretch of the regular season.
