Grant Scott Grant Scott 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Pikeville | 2023 State KY is another tight end that I had high on my radar coming into this season that continued to impress. Scott had a solid senior year, playing a key role in Pikeville’s 1A State Championship run. He is one of the best blocking tight ends that I saw this season as he played a huge role in Pikeville’s dominant run game. Scott is a physical blocker, exploding out of his stance and driving his man off the line of scrimmage. He finishes his blocks through the whistle, resulting in several pancake blocks. Scott also does a great job of getting up to the second level and picking up blocks in open space. While Pikeville wasn’t particularly known for their passing attack, Scott also showed the ability to pose as a threat as a receiver, catching 17 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns this season. Grant is committed to the University of Pikeville where I see him being a very productive tight end.

Scott played a key role in helping Birchfield find success on the ground as he is an excellent blocker. He showed the ability to get to the second level and pick up blocks in the open field as a lead blocker. Once he got locked on to his defender, Scott showed great leg drive, driving his man down the field through the whistle. He also played a role in Pikeville’s passing game, finishing the playoffs with five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. Grant currently holds offers from Pikeville, UVA Wise, and Hanover, and I can see him carving out a key role as a tight end for any of those programs.

Scott has had a solid season catching the ball so far in a run-heavy Pikeville offense, catching twelve passes for 165 yards and a touchdown through nine games. He is used all over the offense, lining up as a true tight end, in an H-Back role, and in the slot. Scott has shown that he has reliable hands and has the ability to get up the field after the catch and use his speed and strength to his ability to pick up extra yards. However, his game doesn’t revolve around catching the ball. Scott is a very impressive blocker as Pikeville uses him very frequently as a lead blocker in the run game. He has the ability to find defenders to block in open space and is a very physical finisher that blocks through the whistle. Grant currently holds one offer from the University of Pikeville but more coaches should have their eyes on him as he has the skill set to be a very good college tight end.

Another player that I have been high on for quite some time is Pikeville senior tight end, Grant Scott Grant Scott 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Pikeville | 2023 State KY . He is our second ranked tight end in the class of 2023. Scott is a very willing and physical blocker in the run game. Once he explodes off the line, he gets extended and drives his feet to create movement off the line of scrimmage. He is also used in motion as a lead blocker and destroys any defender in his path. As a pass catcher, Scott has reliable hands and uses his strength and speed after the catch to pick up big gains. Grant currently holds an offer from Pikeville but he should have more college coaches interested in him as he is the complete package at tight end.
