Varney is a good athlete who can be moved around the formation and still make an impact. He’s a savvy player who runs good routes and understands how to get himself open. I like his vision and feel for the game, especially the way he finds soft spots in zone coverage and makes himself available to the quarterback. He doesn’t waste much movement and always seems to be where he’s supposed to be. He strikes me as the type of receiver who can quietly move the chains all game long and become a quarterback’s safety valve.
