As the season approaches next month, the opportunity for the 2029 class is now, and these receivers have a chance to break out this fall and climb the boards.

Peters is a good outside receiver who can win down the field and stretch a defense vertically. He has a good vertical and does a nice job going up to make plays when the ball is in the air. He comes back to the ball and makes sure he secures the catch. He's good after the catch and can turn a routine play into a big play. He has the kind of skill set that gives an offense a reliable outside target with some big-play ability.

Randle has good length and looks like a natural possession receiver. He has strong hands and does a nice job catching the ball with his hands instead of letting it get into his body. After the catch, he can bounce off contact and pick up extra yards. I like that he isn't limited to one role either. He can make plays down the field, but he's just as comfortable working in the quick passing game and moving the chains. He strikes me as the type of receiver quarterbacks grow to trust because he's reliable and doesn't try to do too much.

Irwin is a promising young receiver who already shows good awareness on the field. He can make some impressive catches and does a nice job watching the ball all the way into his hands. Once he has it, he has good speed and vision and knows how to get upfield. I also like that he can be moved around and play in the slot when needed. For a younger receiver, he already looks comfortable doing a lot of different things, and that's a good sign moving forward. If he can put it together this fall, I'd be shocked if he didn't become a trustworthy piece for the Ryle offense moving forward.

Varney is a good athlete who can be moved around the formation and still make an impact. He's a savvy player who runs good routes and understands how to get himself open. I like his vision and feel for the game, especially the way he finds soft spots in zone coverage and makes himself available to the quarterback. He doesn't waste much movement and always seems to be where he's supposed to be. He strikes me as the type of receiver who can quietly move the chains all game long and become a quarterback's safety valve.

Wickware is someone I saw at the Battle of the Bluegrass State in March, and he looked good. He can line up inside or outside, and there's a natural fluidity to the way he moves that stands out. He closes on the football well, stays balanced through the catch, and competes when it's in the air. He wasn't in the age group I was covering, but he played hard and fought for the ball when it was in the air. He never looked content just being in position. He wanted to come away with it.

As the season approaches next month, the opportunity for the 2029 class is now, and these receivers have a chance to break out this fall and climb the boards.
