feels like a player that is primed for a big senior season after waiting for his opportunity to get on the field for the Spartans. Vaughn has been a 2024 prospect that we’ve seen quite a bit while he played for Sooner 7 and he was one of the top performers at our last camp in April. On Thursday night, Vaughn was outstanding at wide receiver and then also as a cornerback on defense. Vaughn uses his speed and quickness incredibly well and the Spartans use him well in the screen game on offense. On defense, Vaughn did a good job of defending some of Owasso’s better playmakers in 1 on 1 situations from his corner position.

dominated all throughout the combine and won the MVP award for all of the wide receivers at the event. In his shuttle runs, he had the quickest times, not only for quarterbacks, but for any player. It was not even close either. His times were a staggering 4.03 and 4.06. The next quickest time was PJ Wallace with 4.28. He blew away every drill that he did.

was by far the most impressive wide receiver in this drill, which was nothing new as he lit up the whole event. He came away with the wide receiver MVP, setting the path to it ablaze. His two times were by far the quickest times for his position. He recorded 4.59 and 4.56, with the next closest times for a receiver being 4.72. That is a big difference for a 40 yard dash. That is good speed for a receiver. To put it in perspective, there would have been 10 players in the 2023 NFL Draft Combine that was slower than him (according to NFL.com). That is an impressive day for him.

edged out a few other wide receivers for MVP honors behind a complete performance from start to finish. Vaughn ran the two fastest shuttle times of the camp with a 4.03 shuttle, followed by a 4.06. Vaughn was zooming on Sunday and that didn’t stop as we went into the positional drills as well as 1 on 1 competition. Vaughn was also one of the wide receivers called out at the end of the camp for the “best on best” competition and he made a great move to get open and bring in the ball. Another thing that really stood out to us while watching was Vaughn’s desire for competition and reps. He certainly got his moneys worth as he also turned around and played some defensive back during the 1 on 1 competitions. That’s something that is always going to stand out to us at these camps. The guys who just want to compete and get as many reps as they can, so they play multiple positions. That, and his overall performance, was a big reason why Vaughn was the MVP on Sunday.
