is still a 2028 prospect that we like a lot moving forward. Jones was sidelined for most of the 2025 season so we’re looking forward to seeing him back on the gridiron this fall. Early in his sophomore campaign, Jones saw playing time on both sides of the ball, including some significant playing time at cornerback early on in the year. But with Bixby needing a new starter at the running back position, that could open things up for Jones to step into that role. And when you look at his size, overall athletic ability and shiftiness in the open field, he’s a really good fit for what Bixby likes to do with the running back position. He’s pretty similar stature-wise to guys like Moll and Presley, who have exceeded at RB in this offense.

has taken over the top spot at the running back position but the irony is that we might not see him play much running back this fall. Bixby got a move in at the position that could be their top option in the running game in 2025. But when we watched Bixby a few weeks ago, Jones was getting plenty of work at the wide receiver position and on defense. And when we look at what he did last season and what he’s done this offseason, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him in a Braylin Presley role where he’s just as dangerous in the backfield as he is as a slot receiver. Whenever the Spartans can get the ball to Jones in space, he has the potential to make something special happen. That was evident in last year’s state title game.

in person and with the pads on, he was standing out in Bixby’s state championship victory over Owasso. As a freshman, Jones earned very valuable playing time on the best program in the state. There just aren’t many freshmen that earn playing time for the Spartans and the ones that do, immediately get our attention. Jones was on our radar prior to the 2024 season after standing out in multiple 7v7 tournaments but we were fired up to see how much playing time he would get and what he would look like when the pads came on. He passed the eye test and we’re looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop. He’s in a very similar situation to Wright at Lincoln Christian, where he is absolutely dynamic in the open field and his ceiling is incredibly high.

is the only one that has seen significant playing time at the varsity level this season. At least that’s time that we can track the numbers. Jones is the first of two Bixby Spartans on this breakdown and we’re looking forward to seeing where he ends up within this class. Jones has gotten playing time this season in a very crowded Bixby backfield. In fact, in their season opener against Owasso, Jones was getting touches on the opening series of the game. He’s currently fourth on the team in rushing but when he’s gotten into the game, you can see that there’s definitely a lot to like.

. Jones is part of the special Bixby pipeline that saw seventh-grade, eighth-grade and high school varsity teams reach championship games this past season. Jones is a dynamic playmaker that played a bit of everywhere during the regular season but looked like a seasoned ball carrier at camp. Physically, he has all the tools and potential to be a special one going forward. At 5-foot-6 and 150-pounds, he was clocked at a 4.69 in the forty and a powerful 8’4″ in the broad jump. Another year at the middle school level is going to look scary, as the rich get richer in Spartan country.
