If we learned anything from Bixby’s 2023 championship run, it’s that the Spartans don’t need to play just one quarterback. After playing two quarterbacks in 2022, they upped it to three last fall. Freshman Barrett Standley Barrett Standley 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Bixby | 2027 OK could crack that lineup going into this fall. He’s also a standout baseball player. Bixby’s QB depth chart has plenty of talent but they’ve also shown the desire to play as many guys as they can.

The Bixby Spartans have a wealth of quarterbacks right now in their program and they have proven that they aren’t scared of playing two or three different guys depending on the scenario. Freshman Barrett Standley Barrett Standley 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Bixby | 2027 OK has seen some limited playing time on the varsity level this season, mostly in fourth quarters of Bixby blowouts. So the majority of his experience this fall has been at the JV and freshman level. But Standley scored his first career touchdown this past week on the varsity level and he has thrown some passes at the varsity level, although it has been a very limited sample size. Bixby is in a unique position moving forward with all of the quarterbacks that they will play.

Barrett is a three-sport stand-out coming out of the state of Oklahoma. At quarterback, Barrett can seemingly do it all and at a very high level. He has the speed to beat anyone of the field on the ground and the athleticism to extend plays if he needs to. Most impressively, Barrett has an elite arm. No matter what is going on around him, Barrett is capable of tossing the ball down field and hitting his receivers in spots to allow them to extend the play. Barrett has an elite set of skills in everything that he does, and it won’t be long until the three-sport athlete takes his talent to the big stage in college athletics. He is going to go far in athletics.

A three-sport athlete out of Bixby Middle School, Standley is one of those extremely rare kids who has a legitimate shot to play at the Division 1 level in wrestling, baseball and football, at this point. Serving as Quarterback for the Bixby Middle School-Blue team (there’s also a Red team), he was named 8th Grade Offensive Player of the Year by the Bixby program.
