It was around this time last year that 2028 tight end and defensive end Connor Arant Connor Arant 6'4" | ATH Bixby | 2028 State OK started to emerge as one of the state’s best 2028 prospects. But he needed to go out and prove it on Friday nights. Not only did he do that, but it seemed like his best performances from his sophomore season came against the toughest competition on the Bixby schedule. Now, Arant is being recruited by literally every program in the country and will be a huge part of what Bixby does in 2026. Arant is one of the few skill players that returns with serious experience from last year’s team. He will also have a significant impact on defense as an edge defender that can absolutely wreck the opponent’s gameplan.

For the second straight ranking update, Bixby tight end and defensive end Connor Arant Connor Arant 6'4" | ATH Bixby | 2028 State OK is the top overall prospect in the state’s 2028 class. And looking back on last season, Arant was just scratching the surface on what he will ultimately be for the Spartans. Last year, Arant was a sophomore on a very senior-heavy roster. He felt like the state’s best role player as he would come in for certain moments on both sides of the ball and he always delivered. Now, Arant is going to get significantly more playing time and we cannot wait to see where he shines brightest. Offensively, he is a nightmare to defend as a tight end with size, strength and very reliable hands. Defensively, he’s a nightmare coming off the edge in passing situations.

Bixby’s Connor Arant Connor Arant 6'4" | ATH Bixby | 2028 State OK has taken over the top spot in the state’s 2028 class rankings. Arant has had a very strong nine months since the start of the 2025 season. At the start of his sophomore season, Arant was a rotational player but his playing time continued to grow throughout the season and by the end of the year, he was a key two-way piece to what the Spartans were doing. On offense, Arant is a terrific tight end that gave the Spartans a huge red zone target. Defensively, Arant came off the edge and terrorized opposing quarterbacks. Since the end of his sophomore season, Arant has seen his recruitment absolutely explode with major P4 offers from all over the country. Right now, he looks like the best prospect in this class.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone following Oklahoma high school football right now. Bixby has another potential star coming up. Tight end and defensive end Connor Arant Connor Arant 6'4" | ATH Bixby | 2028 State OK has had a terrific sophomore season and the really scary thing is Bixby hasn’t really needed him. He was a rotational piece early on this season but he’s starting to get more playing time and we are very intrigued with his impact on both sides of the ball. In the first few games, Arant was rotating in as a edge rusher on third downs and now he’s also getting in and giving the Spartans a huge target at the tight end position. We’re not going to say he’s the next Luke Hasz because he’s actually bigger. But you can see some parallels in their games and the potential here is through the roof.

Bixby has another emerging star prospect on the line of scrimmage. Tight end and Defensive lineman Connor Arant Connor Arant 6'4" | ATH Bixby | 2028 State OK moved over to Bixby from Jenks this offseason and he’s already earned the attention of Power 4 coaches. He’s already picked up his first offer and this fall could end up being a big one for Arant. We got a chance to watch Arant during the spring and while we were watching, he was primarily working as a defensive end. Arant was going up against a really good offensive line and he looked like he wasn’t having any problems. So there was no doubt that Arant was going to debut in a very high spot in our latest ranking update. We’re looking forward to seeing more of him this fall. It should also be mentioned that he’s a standout on the baseball field.
