This was my first time seeing Ahman in game action, and I came away incredibly impressed. His athleticism was obvious right away. There are very few defensive backs at the high school level who can match this kind of elite speed. His explosiveness and playmaking ability has made him the focal point of the East Kentwood offense, for good reason.
-Very elite acceleration. Constantly gets separation, then hurts the defense more with his run after catch ability. Great vision and great top-end speed.
-Good and consistent hands, no drops. Developing into a very reliable target.
-Dangerous returner. His vision and burst allows him to beat good coverage for extra yardage.

Mitey is a massive piece of this East Kentwood team. One of the best open-field players in the state. Pretty much every time Mitey got the ball in open space, he made at least two people miss. Super shifty and impressive explosiveness. A great WR1 + kick returner that, like a few other stars, raises the ceiling of this program.
Mitey still needs to work on his hands. A couple of drops on hard-thrown passes. Hands remain his biggest weakness.

Ahman had himself an unreal game. 4 touchdowns, including a punt return? In a half? Insane. Ahman is one of the fastest and most athletic guys we have in the state. He is so good at exploiting the tiniest gaps in the defense and making them pay for it. His route running is phenomenal thanks to his elite speed and great change of direction. He flashes good hands and has the ability to come down with some difficult catches. I don’t think this is the last huge game Edmonds has this fall.

Mitey was Mitey. Same twitchy, explosive player. A very well-known athlete on the West Side at this point. A little surprised he didn’t earn an offer today, but perhaps colleges are waiting until this massive evaluation week is through before offering.
- Some of the best release and route-running at the entire camp
- Getting better at shoulder fakes, overall double-moves
- Hands are getting better. Best hands day I’ve seen.

has raised his stock a ton in the last 365 days and has raised his game immensely since getting under the wing of Coach Spencer since he arrived at East Kentwood. In Edmonds, they have found a nice weapon that can deal a ton of damage with his legs.
As a slot receiver, his release is as good as it gets, and he is incredibly difficult to cover in man due to his elite change of direction and acceleration. He runs detailed routes, gets in and out of breaks quickly and doesn’t tip off his route early. His upside is as high as any slot receivers in our 2026 class.

Ahman is a great high school slot receiver who’s been on my radar for a long time. Works with a local coach who I trust. Very good route running + good footwork and change of direction but gets sloppy during games. Poor hands. Bad eye discipline. Constantly removes eyes from ball, constant concentration drops. Also needs to improve physicality. Bad blocker, doesn’t fight for extra yards. Can also improve vision.
Lots of flaws but unquestioned upside. D2 prospect. Confident he has the work ethic to develop into a great GLIAC player.

I’m pretty dang confident that Mitey will earn GLIAC offers this Spring. I think I mentioned a lot of these recently- but I’ll mention them again.
For one, he’s in prime GLIAC country. Ferris, GV, and even Tech recruit the heck out of the Grand Rapids area. Along with the fact he goes to EK and did extremely well this season, I’d be shocked if he wasn’t already on several colleges’ radars.
Mitey runs very good routes. Great athleticism, great change of direction, and knows the little details of the route tree. He sometimes loses a bit of footwork discipline running against a DB vs. on air, but I struggle to name many receivers who don’t. Lastly, I’ve said this before too, but Mitey has a drop problem. I really don’t think it’s going to turn colleges off too much, but still, got to focus on catching a ton of balls this offseason to train the eyes. Should be a GLIAC prospect- I’m more confident that Mitey will earn those offers than any on this list.

I am really sold on Ahman. This kids speed and change of direction makes him impossible to cover out of the slot. His ability to run whip routes and slants with elite speed and athleticism makes him a true mismatch. When I got to see him at the Stock Up Showcase and got to see him move in person, he completely earned my respect. Ahman is a breakout star who is going to be fun to follow over the coming year!

Ahman was the best receiver at this tryout.
This should be no surprise if you’ve been keeping up with West Michigan Football. Ahman is coming off of an amazing season at East Kentwood, undoubtedly catching the attention of college coaches.
Ahman’s best trait is his athleticism/twitchiness. Routes I watched included slant, whip, fade, post, and comebacks. His great acceleration, combined with solid footwork on his breaks, made for consistent separation even against the best DBs. Great route runner.
The one major aspect that Ahman needs to work on is his hands. Ahman had several drops, much of them completely uncovered with zero pressure. In fact, I thought he had BETTER hands when in tight coverage. It just comes down to focusing and looking the ball in.
Also, real quick, Ahman should continue perfecting his routes. I liked what I saw, but on a few routes, I thought Ahman could be just a step faster out of his break. Focus on the “little things” this offseason!
I could easily see Ahman earning a ton of GLIAC offers this offseason. Though, he NEEDS to test well. Above all else, I think Ahman needs to perfect the shuttle. If he can perform really well in that test plus ball out at camps, he will earn GLIAC offers.

If there’s one area that EK is strong in, it’s receiver. They have good depth, and it would be hard for anyone to start at EK, let alone stand out.
Against Hudsonville, Ahman consistently got open against a solid secondary. I’m incredibly impressed with his route running and open-field abilities. As long as Ahman gets an accurate throw, he has a chance to turn an ordinary play into an explosive one. Although he’s pretty undersized, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get any GLIAC offers.
