Owen showed exactly what he had shown before last year’s injury.
A big body with sure hands. East Kentwood seems to love using Owen in the redzone. A first-drive high-point TD, and an out route later in the game to get EK inside the 10. As a redzone target, Owen is one of the best in the state. Love Owen’s size, athletic profile, frame, and hands. Really reminds me of Saline’s

There is absolutely room to improve. Blocking is one area I’d like to see more effort put into. Plus, a couple of other areas that I’d assume he’s trying to polish up. Insane ceiling for Owen- he will be ranked again during the next update.

Due to injury, Own didn’t get to show what he could really do with his move to receiver last season. But that hasn’t made me forget his incredibly high ceiling. Last summer, I watched him dominate in 7 on 7 matchups, and probably had the catch of the summer at Saginaw Valley State’s tournament. He is going into 2025 relatively new to the WR position, and will be a great size piece to oppose the blazing speed of his teammate

. Owen is big, can play physical and still has a ton of untapped potential heading into this fall. I am super excited to see what he can do now that he’s back healthy and ready to go.

Owen was unfortunately sidelined last season due to injury, but he seems back at 100%.
Heck, he ran an 11.31 at a track meet earlier this month. For someone who’s 6’4″, that’s an incredibly impressive time. Pair that with Owen’s several great camp performances last season and the fact that he’s still fairly new to football, it’s hard not to be excited for this Fall. East Kentwood’s WR room is as good as it’s ever been in the 2020s, though I beleive Owen will be able to earn a significant role this season. Can’t wait to see what Owen accomplishes, and I’ll again have a close eye on him throughout the summer.

An injury kept him sidelined for the 2024 season, but his play at camps over the summer gave me plenty to be excited about. He’s big, he’s physical and presents a nightmare for opposing defenses. He provides a quarterback-friendly target with a large catch radius and is excellent both in the red zone and at the sticks. His transition to wideout has come with challenges but his potential is limitless in his senior season.

I’m excited to see Owen get back out there this offseason. He didn’t play last season due to an injury, so that’s the main reason why he remains on the watch list.
I’ve spoken about Owen quite a bit in the past, but I’ll briefly reiterate my thoughts. Owen has the size, and the natural talent to be a great GLIAC player at the very least. With just a couple months of practice, Owen went from never playing football to running good routes, having good hands, a wide catch radius, and great body control.

Owen remains an extremely intriguing prospect. Last offseason, Owen was borderline dominant, and frankly mind-blowing for someone that had next to zero football experience. After a season-ending injury, things are a bit more uncertain but I absolutely think colleges should still do their due diligence.
- Great body control
- Wide catch radius
- Long limbs, long stride
- Above-average release
- Background as a soccer player

I’ve mentioned Owen in several similar articles over the past few months. Owen is a very rare prospect. He’s rare because we don’t often see players join football later in their high school careers, and less often do we see those players display a ton of talent. A few times at Legacy, I watched as Owen displayed a natural ability to secure contested catches. In addition, I like how quickly Owen seems to have learned the route tree. He hasn’t been perfect, but without a ton of experience, Owen shows great downfield athleticism and decent footwork with his routes. It’s been a long time since I watched Owen in person, but I can only assume that he’s improved since I last saw him. As long as he has a great training camp leading up to Week 1, Owen will take the OK Red by storm.

It’s extremely rare for someone to be ranked this high without taking a single Varsity WR snap. I’ve seen enough this offseason. New to the receiver position, Owen already displays great route running and phenomenal contested catch ability. Seriously, Owen shows INSANE seemingly natural talent in the receiver position. He still needs to work on the little details, and I’d imagine there’s a learning curve making plays in the OK-Red. But once Owen gets comfortable, he’ll undoubtedly be a phenomenal weapon with an incredibly high ceiling.

Owen is going to generate a lot of hype this offseason as long as he attends a few camps. He’s a big WR who’s completely new to the position. Although he’s new to the position, he shows awesome talent. He already knows how to use his size to box out DBs before he climbs the ladder for a difficult catch (body control is tough for a lot of taller players). His routes look promising, and I’m generally extremely optimistic about East Kentwood as a program. Owen will have a lot to prove in turning his offseason hype into in-season production, but I think he can do it.

Owen earns an extremely favorable spot in the rankings even though he hasn’t shown his WR abilities on Friday nights. When I saw him at Legacy a few months ago, he looked incredible as someone new to the receiver position. Good route running, great body control, and great catch in traffic. He has insanely good size being 6’5″ 195 with an excellent wingspan. I’m not sure how many colleges know of Owen, but I have a feeling every West Michigan college will know of him very soon. He’s a GLIAC prospect, at the very least, as long as he shows production next season.
