While the film is somewhat limited, the film and the elite size and frame made Sterling an easy addition. He projects well as a tackle currently, though sliding inside wouldn’t be a negative either. His footwork is coming along, and he knows how to use his strength and leverage to clear a path in the run game. On top of that, he has a smooth kick step, allowing him to get out of his stance and get ready for whatever the defender throws at him. He doesn’t lean or cross his feet, which lets him keep everything out in front. East Kentwood is on an insane trajectory right now, and Sterling is another big piece of the youth movement going on at EK.

I absolutely love what I saw out of Sterling when I watched his film. To start, he is incredibly physical. Multiple clips show him locking on and blocking to the whistle, and absolutely burying opponents. On top of that, he has the mobility to get out and execute blocks in space, including engaging linebackers in space and blasting huge holes in the defense. He has no trouble with his kick step, and is able to stay in front of a variety of rushers. He will face plenty of spectacular competition in the always competitive OK-Red, so the learning curve will be steep!

I believe Maurice is an underrated prospect that has not received proper evaluation. At 6’3 220 pounds, he is on the fast track to becoming a legit college prospect in the coming years. He’s already racked up some experience playing both right and left tackle, as well as some defensive tackle, that speaks to his potential versatility down the road. Sterling looks to have a pretty good wingspan, offensively he uses it stonewall defenders looking to bull rush, defensively to shoot his hands and deliver a good punch at the point of attack. He has already demonstrated some good IQ, possessing the ability to play through defensive stunts by passing off D lineman and picking up a new one. As well as his ability to sift and attack the second level of defense.
