QB1 Avonte Crawford Avonte Crawford 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Huntington | 2025 State WV should take a step forward in 2024 as a quarterback after a successful first season as the starter last season. Crawford is a D1 athlete in our eyes as a QB or ATH with the athletic versatility to play multiple other positions in college. He’ll have quite likely the top skill player group in the state to spread the ball around to with dynamic playmakers lined up all over the field. Crawford’s high-level athleticism allows him to have great footwork and mobility in the pocket and executes RPOs well. His best attribute as a passer to this point is the touch he puts on his throws and accurate ball placement at multiple levels of the passing game.

Crawford is a poised presence who stands tall in the pocket and has one final mission as the QB1 at Huntington.

Huntington’s Avonte Crawford Avonte Crawford 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Huntington | 2025 State WV is an incredibly versatile and gifted athlete who needs more attention from the D1 level. He did a great job transitioning to quarterback for the Highlanders last season as a junior to fill the large void left by Gavin Lochow in 2023. Crawford is equally, if not even more talented of a DB prospect which he showed in 2022 as a sophomore and could end up playing that position in college depending on how colleges view him as a prospect. He performed at a high enough level at quarterback last season to earn him a spot in the prestigious Elite 11 regionals as he continues to improve and develop at that position. Crawford posted 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns as a passer last season while only appearing in the first half of many of the games due to the score.

He should make a big jump in his quarterback development next season as a senior with a very big and important off-season already on the way for his development and college prospect status.

The Huntington signal caller has a great frame at 6-foot-3 and while he shows a good skillset as a pocket passer has the athleticism to be dangerous on the ground with a reported forty yard dash of 4.62.

Shows off a strong arm on tape with a nice touch on his deep balls. Not afraid to throw the ball into traffic but remains accurate in doing so as well. Also shows a very good skillset as a safety with good ball skills.
