Whelan transfers to Corner Canyon for the 2025 season and looks to help bolt down the interior and create a formidable offensive line group. He possesses good size and has a nice frame to add 10-15 lbs. Whelan is an athletic lineman who is light on his feet and showcases good footwork. He showcases a good nastiness with physicality and drives his man backwards, looks to pancake his man, and will chip in pass protection and use his strength to help finish off blocks. Whelan has a good base and a strong first step. He’s a player honing his craft and has made his commitment to the Air Force Academy.

Whelan is a prospect flying under the radar that has been productive this past season. Has a thick build and has ability to bend at the LOS. As a run blocker, shows explosion with strength and leg drive. Run block on the move to cut off linebackers in the open field. In pass protection he shows quickness to set his base, give initial contact and sustain his feet. Whelan has the size and movement to play along the offensive interior at the college level.
