Joaquin has good size and is a versatile player. He can be a cover corner or be moved to the box safety. He has good physicality and a high football IQ. He does well in man and zone concepts and has the hips to cover twitchier receivers. He does a good job of hand fighting and has the ball skills to disrupt passing windows and make a play on the ball. It’s likely he ends up being a box safety at the next level and use his physicality to help out in run support.
Joaquin has good size and a solid frame. He is a versatile defensive back who can be a cover corner, play the Safety positions, and be asked to cover bigger, athletic tight ends. He is a physical playmaker who has good hip fluidity. I saw him at the Weber Mega Camp this summer, and he has great footwork and has hips that surprised me the most. Players of his size and frame you expected to be a little stiff in the hips, but Joaquin impressed in that area. It’s likely he ends up as a hybrid Safety at the next level, but is a player who has multiple ways to get on the field.
Joaquin jumps 32 spots and is now inside the top 100. He is a defensive back who shows good hips and has the quickness necessary. He has good reactionary skills and is a player who will make a play on the ball. He’s a physical player and a willing run-stopping supporter.
Joaquin has emerged for Corner Canyon and he’s a player with good traits to like. He’ll get late offers. He shows good hip sink, has good instincts and is a defensive back that has good overall quickness and size.
Rodriguez comes in from California and will infuse the defensive back unit with added juice. He has good size for the position and is a physical corner with good ball skills. He has good hip fluidity and does a good job at making a play on the ball that comes his way. He is best as a press cover corner but is adept at playing zone coverages. He should help Corner Canyon in that secondary group this season.
