Wood has excellent reactionary skills and is very good at coverage. He also has excellent footwork, covers his area well, and showcases good vision. Wood is a textbook tackler who takes great angles and has a quick burst with a good first step as a rusher. Wood is a versatile backer and can be used as a SAM or WILL and that versatility frees up the Linebacking group. He is an instinctive player who showcases good speed for the position. Wood does a good job at shedding his blocker with good technique and doesn’t over-extend himself out of a play. Wood is a very nice prospect in the state.

Wood is a productive player at the MIKE linebacker position and a huge contributor to the Chargers winning the 6A state championship. Displayed burst and COD in positional drills to show he can play the linebacker position. Showed movement to cover in space against tight ends and running backs in competition drills. His competitiveness earned the MVP for the linebackers and will see stock rise as a prospect flying under the radar in the state.
