The junior RB/DB rushed for 118 yards and 2 TDs on the ground and recorded 3 INTs on defense in his first varsity action. He produced his most impressive play jumping an out route in coverage over the slot and nearly ran it back for a pick-six. He's on the smaller side at 5'9"/140 but clearly has some playmaking potential on either side of the ball. He also added a punt return TD in the win. Typically a WR/DB, the 5'9"/160 junior flashed impressive speed and elusiveness with the ball in his hands and took full advantage of his first opportunities out of the backfield. He hit the hole hard, showed noticeable burst/acceleration at the second level, and was able to make the first defender miss at the LOS. He showed his playmaking ability after the catch turning several short-intermediate catches into explosive gains and worked the sidelines as a perimeter threat extremely well with his awareness and body control. The junior signal-caller showed his dual threat ability pushing the ball downfield for explosive plays and threatening the defense with his legs. He put the ball in good spots up the seams and towards the sideline and looked comfortable throwing from the pocket. Hickman's now rushed for 6 TDs in Moapa Valley's past three games.
