Marcus Williams Marcus Williams 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Desert Pines | 2027 State NV is a dynamic, shifty back who thrives on elusiveness and speed in space. At 5’9”, 175 pounds, he uses his low center of gravity to change direction quickly and make defenders miss in tight areas. Williams shows excellent lateral agility and acceleration, allowing him to turn small openings into explosive gains. He is especially dangerous on the perimeter, where his quickness gives him an edge against defenders. As he continues to develop physically, his skill set makes him a strong playmaker to watch in this class.

Williams rushed for 98 yards and 2 TDs on just 7 carries and added 2 receiving TDs in Desert Pines’ 51-16 win over Legacy on Friday. The standout junior showed why he’s one of the top running backs in the state with the high level speed, agility, and elusiveness he provides out of the backfield. He’s rushed for over 400 yards and 6 TDs and another 3 receiving TDs. Williams holds an offer from Sacramento St. and should continue to add to his list in the near future.

Williams is coming off a breakout sophomore season in which he averaged over 100 rushing yards per game for a total of 842 yards and 8 TDs. The talented playmaker out of Desert Pines picked up his first D-I offer from Sacramento St. in May and has all the speed and athleticism to follow up his sophomore breakout with another productive campaign in the fall. Look for Williams to eclipse the 1,000 yard rushing mark this season and be in contention for an all-state selection in 2025.

Williams broke into the top-25 after a breakout season in the Desert Pines backfield. The sophomore RB was the offense’s most effective playmaker this season, rushing for over 800 yards and 8 TDs on 114 carries. Excellent vision around the LOS allows him to see lane development and possesses the speed and acceleration to capitalize. On the smaller side at 5’9″/175 but shows some strength, toughness, and contact balance when meeting defenders in space. Possesses quick agility and change-of-direction in tight spaces and can make multiple defenders miss with his slick elusiveness. The skillset and athleticism Williams showed this season look D-I worthy, if he continues to develop physically expect the D-I offers/interest to come rolling in.
