Weighing in at a solid 287 pounds, Newcomb brought the size and physicality needed to thrive at the nose guard position. He showed impressive power off the snap and the ability to control the line of scrimmage during competitive periods. Newcomb was particularly effective in one-on-one drills, winning 4 of his 5 reps with a combination of leverage, strength, and relentless effort. The 6’2″/280 defensive lineman recorded 35 tackles, 3 sacks, and 11 TFLs in the regular season and figures to add to that total over the coming weeks. He’s a physical athlete with the size and power to dominate at the LOS. He’s violent with his hands, shows great technique at the POA, and plays with a high motor.
