PrepRedzoneMN's highlight of the whirlwind that is the Summer Camp SZN is Bemidji State's War on the Shore team camps. Minnesota heavy with a sprinkle of Dakotas flavor mixed in, the Beavers host a small school (MN 3A and below) team camp, then a Big School (MN 4A-6A) team camp, with the latter coming last week up in the beautiful 218. After a dayish of full team, skelly, and some individual work, the 15+ team camps culminate with the War on the Shore competition, held nearly right on the shore of the gorgeous Lake Bemidji. Double elimination and three downs to get in the endzone, the competition creates legendary individual performances, insight into a Big School team's makeup and grit, and one of the most riveting two hours of football we watch all year. This past week, Shakopee, nearly overwight with individual talent on their 2026 roster, were handed an "L" early at the hands of an ultra-gritty Simley 4A squad, but the Sabers then battled all the way back, going undefeated before the head-to-head finals with Forest Lake, which culminated in a War on the Shore-winning TD rush from Northwestern Wildcat commit [player_tooltip player_id='1669604' first='Blake' last='Loughlin']. What a time to be alive!

Shakopee was the talk of the Bemidji State War on the Shore Team Camp thanks to their plethora of Division 1 recruits and commits, and leading their trench warfare play was Nebraska Cornhuskers commit Nehemiah Ombati. Coming off a prolific offseason that saw him experience competition against OL from all around the country thanks to a strong campaign on the rising 5v5 circuit, Ombati flashed straight-up dominate athletic ability and size, not to mention an aggressive motor, that could take over a drive seemingly at will. I was interested to see that he was getting significant reps on the OL as both an OG or TE, and at a legit 6'3-6'4, 295 pounds, it was a fun watch, to say the least. PRZMN made sure to try and get as much of a look at Shako as we could with respect to other teams, and Ombati, as one of the handful of legit P4 prospects in attendance, was at entertaining as it got. He was a crushing run blocker and played a good amount of guard and occasionally TE for the Sabers, who were rotating between their new RPO attack and their traditional triple-option/veer offense.

From what he saw during a couple mixers and War on the Shore, Ombati produced a big-time TFL vs. Maple Grove that was brutal, dominant, and seemed easy for the young man. He also had a big shock, shed, flat-down the-LOS collision for no gain against Maple Grove in do-or-die time at the War on the Shore. Also flashed fantastic and eye-catching pursuit speed + effort. Was chasing down ball carriers out to the sideline in multiple team scrimmages that PRZMN got eyes on. For Huskers' fans: Ombati noted to us that he wants to come into Lincoln early, put his best foot forward, and get on the field as quickly as possible.

It's going to be a monster year for Zimmerman's [player_tooltip player_id='1940690' first='Jacob' last='Aderman']. Especially on the defensive line.
Minnesota is an underrated producer when it comes to 3T and DT development, and people take for granted how hard it is to find big, athletic bodies who can hold up along the interior, so in my professional opinion this dude is an absolute sleeper of a DL prospect with D1 upside and ability. Aderman was a literally massive presence from both the DL and OL spots during the BSU Big School Team Camp and was doggin' opponents left and right, whether they were Class 4A or Class 6A. Aderman possessed playmaking juice from interior, not to mention impressive twitch and an explosive get-off, and when he made a big play, which he did often, he's let you hear about it.
I didn't think that Forest Lake was going to be able to significantly fill the massive defensive void left by 2026 Gopher DE commit Howie Johnson, but by golly, the Rangers have themselves a beast of 2029 coming up in the ranks in [player_tooltip player_id='1720248' first='Asher' last='Wilson']. The 6'2 235 lber. has verified size and a good frame that is going to be able 50+ more pounds well, especially given his work in the weight and on the Rangers' track & field team. Wilson put up impressive throws in the shot put (51'3.5") and discus (151'8") as a freshman in the Big School ranks, and he put that explosiveness to good use during the BSU War on the Shore camp and competition.

Sadly, I can't find a lot of information on the newcomer, but if I had to guess he'd be around 6'3-6'4 and 280 lbs., and the DT rocking #74 for the Sabers seems to be a transfer from Two Rivers High School at one point in. Strong, powerful, and tough at the point of attack, Blood was a run-stuffer who was holding up well against fellow 6A competition during War on the Shore.
During the actual War on the Shore competition, we particularly noted McGee's sideline to sideline pursuit speed and range, all-out effort and fearlessness in terms of putting his body on the line, and overwhelming size/strength as a tackler in the prep ranks. McGee and his LB partner [player_tooltip player_id='1669604' first='Blake' last='Loughlin'] could both be 100 tackle 'backers this season as seniors.

Maybe my favorite new defensive find from the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp came from a very diverse and exciting Burnsville Blaze roster going into 2026. 5'10, 200 lber. [player_tooltip player_id='2255201' first='Dane' last='Classen'], rocking #34 for the yellow and black of the Blaze, was straight-up balling during War on the Shore, asserting himself as one of the most physical and productive LBs of the double-digit 4A, 5A, and 6A schools in attendance. Classen was laying the wood like a seasoned carpenter, not to mention one that is 25ish pounds heavier, and in my upcoming War on the Shore highlights thread on X, you'll be able to see some of these collisions yourself.

Classen was maybe pound-for-pound the biggest thumper of the War on the Shore, producing multiple impressive 1v1 collisions, and he was an overall excellent tackler who caught our eye for his huge hit FF vs. Maple Grove, combined tackle with #13 for great tackle in OT vs. Princeton. He also manufactured a big-time 1v1 stick against the Holy Angels' RB in the hole. Stepped up and ate the contact to minimize the gain. He also triggered on a Maple Grove RB and carry so quickly and with so much force that he knocked the ball loose for one of the best tackles and most disruptive individual efforts of the War on the Shore. Also had a crushing goal line tackle on [player_tooltip player_id='1120527' first='Colton' last='Johnson']. Great read, flew into space, stuffed the ball carrier right at the contact point. Was giving up some inches and weight in the collision as well. I don't say it often, but Classen looks like he that dog in him.

Rocking his trademarked rec specs, Dockery was absolutely sticking ball carriers during the highly-competitive War on the Shore, including excellent read, fill, and tackle in the backfield for a TFL against Maple Grove. Put a big-time stick on the tailback for good measure as well. Also made a strong 1v1 tackle against another 6A competitor out on the edge later in the War on the Shore. He's a tough kid, good run defender, and came alive in the brightest moments of the competition. Talk about a fun watch!

The play was up to snuff as well, as Loomis was a bruiser between the tackles and in the box, aggressively attacking blockers with good leverage and physicality and sticking his noise into even the most brutal of collisions.
Maple Grove has a new-look roster going into the 2026. The Big School state champs from two seasons ago have some fresh faces in their LB corps, and although the trio is dominated by youth, there's also an abundance of talent, not to mention physicality and fearlessness. Leading the new starters is [player_tooltip player_id='1584490' first='Levi' last='Bakker'], an outstanding 2029 prospect who went 4.6 on the laser 40 at our spring PRZMN Showcase backed up by a muscle-bound build far more than impressive than your typical freshman linebackers. Bakker has a nose for the ball and some real-deal athleticism backing his game, and his outrageous closing speed was on display beautifully in a tackle against Burnsville during the War on the Shore competition. Good recognition and triggered on the ball with some serious pace, not to mention the tackle's collision itself.

I was curious about his size being able to hold up against climbing 6A OGs and giant tailbacks flying downhill with zero intention of making a cut. Lucky for Hansegard, he already can power clean 275 lbs., and that power and strength helped him more than assert him physically and hang with the big dogs during the War on the Shore and the various team mixers and scrimmages from the Bemidji State Team Camp. Hansegard can eat a block and come back for more in reliable fashion, and his verified 4.58 laser-verified 40-yard dash speed was as evident as it was impressive in his sideline-to-sideline pursuit range.
Always fun to watch the #1 prospect from any state, buy boy is Shakopee's [player_tooltip player_id='212480' first='Blake' last='Betton'] special. An elite athlete and football player no matter which way you spin it, Betton was a tremendously fun at the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp. The future LB is a can't-miss, always-looming presence as Shakopee's safety, and he's taking over a much larger offensive role for his Sabers in 2026. I frustratingly watching Shakopee try to get Betton the ball on four straight runs or passes, each of which were blown dead by an illegal infraction for one reason or the other, and although I didn't get to see him with ball in-hand very often, Betton made more than a dominant impact from his defensive play alone. Betton absolutely smacked a Forest Lake RB while running the alley with ruthless intentions and efficiency, and his elite frame and measureables helped him create a ton of game-changing plays from the defensive secondary alone. We saw him create a crazy INT vs. Bemidji that was the single rangiest individual play of our entire time in Bemidji. Betton came from the opposite hash while the QB was rolling away from him to make one of the best plays on the ball all day. Also had a great goal line stick against Mack Jurkovich to keep him out of the endzone. Excellent leg drive post contact. Was also a physical ball carrier who had Big School defenders second guessing, not to mention a good route runner. Can break down and drop his hips at the top of the route to create separation. Good hands as well.

#3 for the Bemidji Lumberjacks was a fresh face and new name PRZMN was able to add to our radar thanks to the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp. With a good build when projecting to the college level, 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2255231' first='Reagan' last='Nyhusmoen'] caught our attention in multiple parts of the Big School Team Camp, and he proved himself to be a hard hitter who could get downhill and fill gaps with successful force, not to mention play with a fired up attitude that was infectious for his fellow defenders. Good showing during War on the Shore and made a particularly impressive 1v1 tackler on Mack Jurkovich right off tackle and in space that was a solid thump against the most dangerous offensive player in attendance. D3 and NAIA DB coaches: hit him up!

One of the bigger winners of the 2026 offseason, certified speedster and Burnsville 2027 DB [player_tooltip player_id='1393180' first='Joaquin' last='Brown'] had a nice INT versus Fargo South that caught the attention of PRZMN. Quick out of his breaks, ball skills, and route recognition were all on display as we watched #3 in a live, full team competitive setting.

#12 for the Bemidji Lumberjacks was one of the most physically impressive DBs in attendance at the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp. That was amongst a very talented group of DBs from the double-digit 4A, 5A, and 6A teams in attendance, and the SS/OLB was doing a great job of playing with toughness out on the edge and in space. Could set the edge with physicality and defend with proper leveler, was defeating blocks with efficiency in team settings, and the 6', 195 lber. popped off a huge TFL vs. Shakopee that was one of the bigger defensive efforts of the vaunted War on the Shore competition. Total sleeper in the MN DB ranks for the 2027 class.

Not the biggest CB in attendance at Bemidji State's Big School Team Camp, but [player_tooltip player_id='1619558' first='Tyeron' last='Sandy'] was no doubt one of the stickiest. Sandy produced a sick goal line PBU on slant vs. Fargo South during War on the Shore. Excellent break and physicality at the catch point, and he had some super twitchy breaks on the ball. Route recognition and breaks were very impressive as well. D3s and NAIAs should be all over this Rochester John Marshall rising senior.

#12 [player_tooltip player_id='2255219' first='Jake' last='Courts'] for Shakopee was one of the most dynamic players in attendance at the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp. Not only was Courts a sleek, nimble, and twitched-up CB for the Sabers defense, he also got significant tick at QB, where he was the starter last year for Shako. Courts is a dangerous weapon with the ball in-hand but also seems to be one of those prospects who you can line up anywhere and he's not only going to be reliable but will make plays. Carries some swag as well. Big-time sleeper for D3 and NAIAs in their 2027 cycle of recruiting.

Maybe the best new find from the Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp came out of the 507 and the Rochester John Marshall Rockets. A 6'2, 185 lb. dynamic, playmaking, and physically impressive two-way standout, Akit'j Williams-Robertson had the hosting BSU coaches buzzing, and he really put his athletic skillset to good use during the War on the Shore competition against 4A, 5, and 6A opponents alike. Williams-Robertson displays a massive catch radius thanks to a very impressive wingspan and can reel in the rock while fully extended and in traffic. He produced an exciting carry and gain against BSM during War on the Shore on a jet sweep, and whenever he toted the rock he flashed excellent contact balance and long legs that help him spin out of, step through, and generally break tackles of all types coming at his lower body. Also came in as the wildcat QB for his offense against Forest Lake and created a beautiful TD that involved deadly acceleration, contact balance, and of course, toughness & physicality. From what I gathered, Williams-Robetson is not currently academically eligible under NCAA guidelines, so local JUCO programs should be banging this kid's door down for a commitment later in the cycle.

This past week, Shakopee, nearly overwight with individual talent on their 2026 roster, were handed an "L" early at the hands of an ultra-gritty Simley 4A squad, but the Sabers then battled all the way back, going undefeated before the head-to-head finals with Forest Lake, which culminated in a War on the Shore-winning TD rush from Northwestern Wildcat commit Blake LoughlinBlakeLoughlin
