The growth Chan has made with his footwork in pass coverage has surely amped up his development over the last year since he first got on my board a little over a year ago. He too has gotten stronger and more length from the weight room and I am intrigued how it has translated to to the field, as Chan surely appears more rangy especially in run-stopping scenarios. He has gained instincts playing on an island in pass coverage and competing against more sizable targets in his junior season with the Bruins as this pair of brothers from Fargo South should get sound attention over the summer.

Our DB group on Saturday in Aberdeen, was a tight-knit group as far as similar skillets in my eyes and in the end, our DB MVP came thru with Fargo South 2027 safety Chan Ajak getting the nod . The 5’10 155 pounder possessed an enticing 6’3 wingspan which I could grasp the length in the reps I watched from Chan in during Indy reps and into 1v1s later. Even as a safety, I was really impressed with Chan’s on ball physicality he had it felt like every 1v1 reps and possessed that get up vertical that popped out of nowhere from the clips I rewatched after camp. The athleticsm this young man has and will grow into further with his upside is super intriguing. Chan surely is a 2027 that should see a rise up in this DB group within our rankings.

I could grasp on Saturday in Aberdeen, that our DB group had a tight race for DB MVP and I was pumped to see it go to one of our recent new additions to our 2027 rankings, in Fargo South safety Chan Ajak. The 5’9 150 pounder possesses an intriguing 6’3 wingspan which I could grasp the length in the reps I watched from Chan in Indy and into 1v1s later. Chan also lead the pack of defensive backs in the broad jump with a 9’2. His ability to standout during 1v1s intrigued me as you can tell Chan has long strides for his size and a developing ball-tracking ability with a growing football IQ and you cannot miss on that wingspan for his measurables as I thought that paid it’s dividends in the end with his reps. Chan surely is a 2027 that should see a rise in this DB group within our rankings.

I could tell, right away upon watching Chan with the sophomore tape that this young man has a sound football IQ and IQ is just getting started based on how well this young man finds the ball. He is not the biggest safety you will see, but the range he shows off is fun to watch on tape as a safety that I feel plays way bigger than those measurables will show you. To me with Dakotas defensive backs, it’s more about showing off the physical presence than the size as with Chan, that pops out consistently on tape. He is also one that I would love to see more reps of how he plays downhill, as what I see lightly on tape shows that this kid plays with a chip on his shoulder as he comes in as our DB4 in the 2027 class.
