is one of the best and stickiest CBs in Minnesota going into the fall. The Rangers‘ rising senior proved his comfortability and dynamic movement ability in man coverage rep after rep and win after win in, as his anticipation, quickness out his breaks, patience, and ball skills were shutting down any and every WR that came his way in River Falls at the 2026 UWRF MNWI Mega Camp.

showed up and showed out in Dinkytown. In front of a boatload of NSIC suitors, possibly even the coaching staff of his future home, Tamukong was a standout during drill work and positional indy, looking smooth, fast, bendy, and loose in his backpedal, weave, and transitions. With a strong baseline of technique and solid athleticism backing him, the Big School CB broke up passes on a variety of different routes and passes during 1v1s. Good ball skills and comfortable breaking up deep passes, good 50/50 ball ability, and was overall sticky at maintaining phase on streaking wideouts. Quick enough to hang with twitchier WRs throughout their routes, and was patient, yet decisive, in his breaks when reading and reacting to wideouts at the top of the route. This kid is a legit man-coverage cornerback and is going to be a shutdown defender in 2026.

One of the top DBs in his class, Tamukong has already been on some high-profile gameday visits at schools like the University of North Dakota. Diving into his junior tape, you can’t help but be impressed with Tamukong’s potential. He’s primarily a boundary corner, and on the first several plays of his tape, you get a sense of what he brings to the table. Tamukong is super quick and does a fantastic job of reading the QB’s eyes. He can break on an instant toward balls, and makes QBs pay for underthrowing passes. He adjusts incredibly well to the path of the ball, which is part of the reason for his frequent interceptions and PBUs. He’s an excellent zone corner whose stock I can see leaping this offseason. I’d love to get a look at him during some camps this summer.

Forest Lake has opened the season undefeated and currently sits among the top 3 teams in Class 6A, driven in part by the shutdown play of junior cornerback Ndifor Tamikong. Through six games, Tamikong has already amassed four interceptions (leading 6A), five pass breakups, 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. Tamikong started all 10 games as a sophomore, and that experience shows in his mature technique and steady presence. He is long, fast, and confident on the line. He uses patient feet to mirror release patterns, plays through the upfield shoulder at the catch point, and delivers intent in perimeter run support. His length helps him recover when beaten early, and his stride carries him with makeup speed down the boundary. With Forest Lake’s fierce front forcing quick throws, Tamikong’s ability to trigger on hitches and bubbles has turned routine routes into tackles for loss. He has physical and mental traits to grow into a true boundary matchup piece as he continues to add mass and refine his coverage instincts.
