<p>Congratulations to all of the footballers around the state signing with colleges on Wednesday. The early period will wrap up Friday with Iowa's 2026 Class proving it was strong from start to finish. </p>

<p>Here's a closer look at the talented collection of seniors: </p>

<p><strong>TOP OF THE CLASS</strong></p>

<p>Eleven different members of Iowa's 2026 Class signed on with Power 4 programs as scholarship players, so far. That's one more than last year with time for this year's cycle to add even more to the tally.</p>

<p>The University of Iowa harvested the in-state crop of prospects with the most success this fall, landing five of the 11. The Hawkeyes officially added tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1198816' first='Luke' last='Brewer'], who reclassified from the 2027 Class during the season, linebackers [player_tooltip player_id='1238512' first='Julian' last='Manson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1238514' first='Kasen' last='Thomas'], and offensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1221926' first='Carson' last='Nielsen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1238174' first='Colin' last='Whitters'], to the roster on Wednesday.</p>

<p>Four of those guys are ranked in the Prep Redzone Top 10 rankings last updated in the preseason. Brewer will be added when a rankings update drops in the next week or so. </p>

<p>Two guys are heading to the SEC. [player_tooltip player_id='283946' first='Jayden' last='McGregory'] recently flipped his commitment from Louisville to Missouri, where he signed on as a safety Wednesday. [player_tooltip player_id='1221928' first='Evan' last='Jacobson'] officially joined Texas A&M, the only program heading to the 2025 College Football Playoff to take an Iowa kid. </p>

<p>Iowa State received an early commitment from Dowling Catholic receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1241492' first='Jeffrey' last='Roberts'] when he was at Ames last season. The talented wide out will be heading back to town after signing with the Cyclones.</p>

<p>Kansas got involved early with [player_tooltip player_id='1281978' first='Draeden' last='Punt']. The Jayhawks crossed the finish line with him signing to join the program. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1240890' first='Tavian' last='White'] was committed to North Dakota when Minnesota offered him a scholarship on Nov. 29. He accepted the Golden Gopher opportunity. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1687055' first='Dalton' last='DeBoer'] moved from Minnesota for his senior season at Waukee Northwest. He was committed to Wake Forest before the switch and signed with the Demon Deacons on Wednesday. </p>

<p>The in-state Power 4 programs also did well in recruiting walk-ons from Iowa. The Cyclones welcome [player_tooltip player_id='1631997' first='Keaton' last='Mennen'] after flipping him from a South Dakota pledge, and also will be bringing in Zach Eskildsen from Texas.</p>

<p><strong>PROMINENT FCS PROGRAMS MINING IOWA</strong></p>

<p>Our region is home to some of top Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) squads in the country. That group includes North Dakota State and South Dakota State, which have combined to win the last four national championships.</p>

<p>The Jackrabbits have been active in recruiting Iowa, especially during this cycle, when they signed seven guys from the state. <p>Northern Iowa has recommitted itself to recruiting in-state prospects during the last few cycles and matched SDSU with seven commitments in '26. The Panthers welcomed [player_tooltip player_id='1240572' first='Colt' last='Schipper'], [player_tooltip player_id='1221961' first='Will' last='Remmert'], [player_tooltip player_id='1241488' first='Quinn' last='Street'], [player_tooltip player_id='401672' first='Jimmy' last='Scott'], [player_tooltip player_id='401671' first='Drew' last='Thompson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1619623' first='Sam' last='Drexler'] and [player_tooltip player_id='401675' first='La'Marious' last='Clark'] from the 2026 Class.</p>
