Get 25% Off Your Subscription By Entering Knight25 In The Coupon Code Area. Enjoy!

The 2025 football season is less than a week away from officially kicking off with week zero. Since July 1st, we've had a ton of preview content from over 100 team previews to our official Preseason All State Teams! Now, we finish off our season preview series by taking a look at some of the freshmen that could have a significant impact on the 2025 season. Whether they will be starting right away, playing major roles or just are some names that you need to file away for the near future, we're putting the spotlight on the 2029 class here.

TOP FRESHMEN HEADING INTO 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1717266' first='Brody' last='Smith'] - Quarterback - Regent Prep

Regent Prep will have a new quarterback for the first time in several years. One of the players battling for that QB1 role is [player_tooltip player_id='1717266' first='Brody' last='Smith'] and he's definitely someone to keep an eye on this fall and beyond. Brody is the son of former Tulsa quarterback Paul Smith and Brody earned an offer from the Golden Hurricane this offseason. There is no doubt that Smith has a lot going for him as he heads into his freshman season. There's plenty of talent there and it's easy to buy early on him as a quarterback prospect when you look at the DNA. The last Regent Prep quarterback was incredibly dynamic. with the run and pass game. Regent Prep has put up massive numbers on offense and they could have a freshman guiding the way this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1409130' first='Devin' last='Smith'] - Offensive Lineman - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow's [player_tooltip player_id='1409130' first='Devin' last='Smith'] is the first of three offensive linemen in the state's 2029 class that have already earned D1 offers. Smith is definitely a prospect we're keeping an eye on this season and moving forward. When you look at Broken Arrow coming into this season, specifically on the offensive line, the Tigers have a chance to be really good on the line of scrimmage. So the obvious question becomes how much will Smith crack that lineup and earn playing time this fall. The last time we saw a Broken Arrow Tiger start as a freshman on the offensive line with a lot of hype, it was Andrew Raym and he went on to sign with Oklahoma. Smith has the potential to be an absolute force on the line of scrimmage as soon as this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1607998' first='Jamison' last='Mobley'] - Offensive/Defensive Lineman - Jenks

We've heard about Jenks offensive and defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1607998' first='Jamison' last='Mobley'] for close to a year now. He was absolutely dominant at the middle school level. But now he faces a new challenge and he's not going to be the monster that everyone else has had to deal with. Or maybe he's just as dominant and the step up in competition has no impact. The Trojans come into this season with multiple players on the offensive line that hold D1 offers. The defensive line is also pretty experienced and that's a group that is on the rise in our opinion. But Trojan coaches are pretty confident that Mobley is going to find his way onto the field. He's already earned a D1 offer this offseason so he's definitely on the radar of college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1701291' first='Jax' last='Wilkerson'] - Offensive Lineman - Carl Albert

Carl Albert offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1701291' first='Jax' last='Wilkerson'] is the last of the three offensive linemen that are firmly on the radar in the 2029 class. Wilkerson has had a very strong offseason and the ceiling might be the highest of any 2029 prospect in the state. Wilkerson just recently started playing football and while there is a lot that Wilkerson still has to learn, it is crystal clear that he has a raw talent that makes him seem like a can't miss prospect. What's scary is Carl Albert has all five starters returning on the offensive line so Wilkerson is going to continue to learn while not being relied on perhaps before he's ready. It's so incredibly early but if we had to predict a player to be the top prospect in this class in four years, Wilkerson might be the pick.

[player_tooltip player_id='1667339' first='Jeymon' last='Reed'] - Quarterback - Altus

The season hasn't even kicked off yet, but if we had to make a prediction on who the 2025 Freshman Of The Year will be, Altus quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1667339' first='Jeymon' last='Reed'] could be the pick. Reed is a terrific athlete that also has a very strong arm. He already has size, speed and as the arm power continues to progress, he has the potential to put up some monster numbers in the run and pass game over the next four seasons. Reed stood out at our camp back in May as one of the top quarterbacks as he was finishing his 8th grade here. So it's incredibly early but look out for Reed to be the state's best freshman this fall. He's also off to a great start to his freshman season already, tearing it up in a scrimmage a few days ago. That could be a sign of things to come.

CONTRIBUTERS TO WATCH

[player_tooltip player_id='1147971' first='Brayden' last='Hubbard'] - Running Back - Deer Creek

Deer Creek has a few freshmen to watch this season and moving forward. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='1147971' first='Brayden' last='Hubbard'] is definitely someone that we could see contribute right away this fall. He has good size and lightning speed to give the Antlers another offensive threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='1751862' first='Brodie' last='Chalakee'] - Tight End - Sapulpa

Sapulpa tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1751862' first='Brodie' last='Chalakee'] is a name that we're very excited to see this season. Chalakee first got on our radar this spring during various 7v7 tournaments. He immediately passes the eye test and has some very reliable hands. He gives Sapulpa a big target.

[player_tooltip player_id='1851077' first='Brody' last='James'] - Tight End - Norman North

We'll throw our hands up and say this one is a major DNA play. Norman North tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1851077' first='Brody' last='James'] is the younger brother of star wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='284117' first='Mason' last='James']. Based on the DNA alone, we're very interested in seeing how he continues to develop moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229527' first='Colt' last=''] Calmus - Linebacker - Jenks

Here's another DNA pick. Jenks has another Calmus at linebacker getting ready to start his high school career. That's all you have to say for us to start buying stock. The family name brings a lot of hype but Colt Calmus appears to be ready to back up that hype.

Dai'Zjon Wilson - Running Back - Southmoore

Southmoore feels like a program that could surprise a lot of people this season with their blend of experienced talent and young playmakers. Running back Dai'Zjon Wilson has been a standout on the track over the last two years so he can inject some speed into this offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1261479' first='Evan' last='Adams'] - Wide Receiver - Poteau

Poteau wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1261479' first='Evan' last='Adams'] feels like a name that could earn his way onto the field very early this fall. Adams really impressed us when we watched him back in the spring and he's continuing to grow physically. He's a name to keep an eye on in southeastern Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573111' first='Joseph' last='Williams'] - Wide Receiver - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1573111' first='Joseph' last='Williams'] might not get a lot of playing time right away for the Tigers but we could see him work his way onto the field by mid to late October. Williams is a player that we watched become quite dynamic in various 7v7 tournaments.

Prince Salazar - Running Back - Lawton MacArthur

Lawton MacArthur running back Prince Salazar is a big bruising back that won't look like a freshman when he gets on the field this fall. And the Highlanders have had a really strong run of running backs over the last decade so we'll go ahead and buy stock early on Salazar.

[player_tooltip player_id='1268717' first='Sterling' last='Jordan'] - Wide Receiver - Beggs

Beggs wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1268717' first='Sterling' last='Jordan'] is another 2029 prospect that we first watched at one of our camps this offseason. He was one of the top 2029 prospects there and is definitely a name to keep an eye on. He could definitely see the field this fall.

Wyatt Cordray - Tight End/Linebacker - Carl Albert

Carl Albert's Wyatt Cordray has the potential to be the next two-way star for the Titans in the future. He already looks the part from a measurable standpoint. Carl Albert coaches are very excited about his potential moving forward and becoming a name to know very soon.

MORE NAMES TO KNOW FOR THE FUTURE

[player_tooltip player_id='1726786' first='Beau' last='Daniels'] - Running Back/Defensive Back - Collinsville

[player_tooltip player_id='1264886' first='Boston' last='Hamilton'] - Quarterback - Bixby

Cash Allen - Quarterback - Norman North

Creede Kuester - Quarterback - Coweta

[player_tooltip player_id='1828638' first='Dallas' last='Fixico'] - Running Back/Linebacker - Bethel

[player_tooltip player_id='1608672' first='Dash' last='Agustin-Gaines'] - Athlete - Deer Creek

[player_tooltip player_id='1839633' first='Davin' last='Brown'] - Putnam City North

[player_tooltip player_id='1704522' first='Gabe' last='Gurley'] - Quarterback - Ada

[player_tooltip player_id='1550680' first='Isaac' last='Spiwak'] - Athlete - Carl Albert

[player_tooltip player_id='1852718' first='Jace' last='Larman'] - Athlete - Choctaw

[player_tooltip player_id='1720996' first='Ja'Ron' last='Jefferson'] - Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Mount St. Mary

[player_tooltip player_id='1839512' first='Jensen' last='Underwood'] - Quarterback - Collinsville

Justin Wilson - Running Back - Choctaw

[player_tooltip player_id='1230346' first='Kruz' last='Delgado'] - Athlete - Muskogee

[player_tooltip player_id='1450782' first='Liam' last='Howerton'] - Quarterback - Mustang

[player_tooltip player_id='1562281' first='Louden' last='Gregory'] - Quarterback - Little Axe

[player_tooltip player_id='1828622' first='Ridge' last='Cator'] - Quarterback/Defensive Back - Bethel

[player_tooltip player_id='1833704' first='Samuel' last='Byers'] - Linebacker - Harrah

[player_tooltip player_id='1594504' first='Tagg' last='Strelow'] - Wide Receiver - Broken Arrow

Traber Jones - Quarterback - Dewar
