is a player that we’re fired up to watch this season. Adams missed some significant time during his freshman season with an injury but we’ve gotten a chance to watch Adams a couple times in person this offseason and he looks as good as ever. Adams is one of those prospects that we first watched in person when he was in middle school. He’s always been a precise route runner and reliable receiver. As he’s grown physically and continued to add muscle, he’s turned himself into a 2029 prospect that you need to know. With a healthy season this fall, Adams could emerge as one of the better receivers in this class.

listed as an athlete and rated as an athlete but this might be the last time we have that. He’ll play both sides of the ball for the Pirates but based on everything we’ve seen on him on film and in person at various 7v7 tournaments or camps, this kid is a wide receiver. That’s how we first started to notice Adams was his consistent ability to catch everything in sight at the receiver position. As he’s gotten bigger, faster and stronger, he has become more of a match-up nightmare for opponents trying to slow him down. Poteau has a few underclassmen to keep an eye on moving forward. Adams earned his way on the field as a freshman and it looks like he’s just scratching the surface on what he’ll be.

is the first of two players on this breakdown where their freshman seasons were cut short to injury. Adams earned meaningful playing time for the Pirates during his freshman season on both sides of the ball before the year came to a close prematurely, due to an injury. We’ve watched Adams in each of the last two offseasons and the talent level is there. Nine months ago, we watched Adams and his growth physically definitely stood out to us. We’re looking forward to seeing Adams again in person to see how much he’s grown. Like we mentioned, the skill is there with him moving forward. He’s a polished route runner and has very reliable hands. As he continues to grow and keep that speed, he’s going to be a problem in southeastern Oklahoma.
